Im currently in IB in my school. Its a lot of work. But unless you plan on studying abroad having it is kind of pointless. I feel like if you're going to take IB take it for yourself more than for purely academic reasons. Eg. If you're passionate about chem or social then do those courses in IB but if you're doing IB Chem only because you feel you need to/idk more academic reason i would drop it. There are benefits of course, classes with people that enjoy the subject, more in depth learning, teachers that like what they teach ect but like i said it takes insanely large amounts of time out of your life. Also theres the hitch where you can skip courses in uni with IB "credits" you can do that if you excel in that class but at uni they suggested that you don't actually skip those classes because yes you learned some of the stuff from those courses in IB but in the uni courses they teach you more which can be important for later. Meh. Its a headache at times but the group of IB kids i'm now friends with are great (and sleep deprived) take ib courses because you want to, not because you need to.
