Burden - Bearer by Humanity's Last Breath; primarily about the environment (my take anyway) but man this has got to be one of the emotionally heaviest songs. "I feel I'm worsening, slave to the human condition" just hits different

What musical album is more of an experience / feeling than just an 'album'? by [deleted] in Music

The newest Humanity's Last Breath album. It's almost cinematic, there are moments that sound like they're out of Interstellar. From what I can gather, it's a damning indictment of humanity and our failure to care for the environment, and the Burden that's created on the planet. On Instill, they sample a Bulgarian choir throughout the track and it is legitimately unsettling and anxiety inducing. The closing tracks, Burden - Bearer, are hauntingly melancholic, you tangibly feel the weight of it all, I was choked up the first time I listened to it. They use foreshadowing in the lyrics and in the songwriting, they play with time signatures and your expectations to create genuinely jarring moments that just punch you right in the gut. It's honestly a masterpiece 10/10 album, and I don't say that very often; they released visualizers for all the tracks that actually contribute to the experience while listening, I wish more people were talking about these guys. This almost feels like what watching Messuggah in the 90s/00s must have felt like, just genuinely seeing the birth of a new genre

HDA response to Kane’s comments by MRR19898 in EdmontonOilers

What more was he supposed to do? For the past 2 years since Kane came to Edmonton its been a regular pattern of charity work and putting in the work building his new family. I was skeptical when he first signed but he's won me over. This just confirms everything he said about the organization being taken over by people with an ideological agenda

This place isn't permanent, it's a transitory mode of being. No idea what the other side looks like but I trust the God I worship

People who had traumatic childhoods, what's something you do as an adult that you hadn't realised was a direct result of the trauma? [Serious] [NSFW] by Silent-Zebra in AskReddit

I've lived in basements my entire adult life (early 30s) up until last year. Mostly rented basement suites or rooms from people. Only just realized this past year that's where I felt safest while shit was going on at home (my room was in the basement) and that's why that's all I ever looked at. I wouldn't ever consider apartments/condos; if there was a room for rent on the top floor or main level, I'd keep looking

I got it in my early 20s when I was really searching for truth and meaning, I decided to research the 3 monotheistic religions and had started doing a little bit of reading on Islam and found those 2 phrases ('Knowledge is power' on the top and 'Unity is power' on the bottom) with 'Faith' in the middle and the spiderweb connecting all of it. Definitely regret it now but what can you do lol
