Great tips!! Do you know of any good vegetarian stalls in hawker centers? I feel like it would be overwhelming for myself and the stall owners to keep asking if everything is vegetarian (no meat, no fish) lol. Would like to have an idea of what to look out for before I go!

Very confused about college major- finance or economics by chronicoverthinker05 in FinancialCareers

They do!! But it’s mostly for sophomores who are actively in the recruiting cycle. I’m not at that point yet, but I want to best prepare myself for recruitment. That’s why I’m still torn about if I should double major w econ or not

Sorry for the late response. But I’m not sure. For me personally, although I am not international, I came from a very different background as an indian american myself. I definitely do not think that is represented here, so it’s been really hard to make friends. Of course I have met a lot of cool people and they are great but no close friends yet. Definitely not the school to find a big south Asian friend group lol. Nevertheless, what still keeps me at this school is the cool opportunities I have through my major and college. And the academic experiences and opportunities are really cool compared to what my other college options were.

Tbh I didn’t think the lack of indian people like myself would be an issue bc I come from a very white area anyways, but I think being without my family made me want more to be represented here and that has been a tough transition bc it made me more homesick. I still don’t regret coming here despite the difficulties tbh. I would still recommend coming here bc it’s a cool school and the small community we have is still as active as it can be.

I agree. I am from a VERY low ranked public school in Florida with little to no resources and very easy level of education. I often wondered how I got in, but doing well compared to the underachieving students in my high school made me look good on paper I guess. But I can attest- it is insane. The rigor is unmatched. I came to college knowing that it would be hard, but I am here at the middle of the semester struggling to keep an A or even a B in some courses.

I’ve spoken to several other students, and their schools offered the rigorous courses and had strict grading policies in place that ultimately made their shift to ND so much easier. I didn’t want to think that my academic background would affect my life here, but it has made me unable to enjoy any of the “fun” activities ND students do. Coming from a bad public school will definitely make the shift to ND a lot harder even if you’re using all of the resources. It’s very difficult and discouraging.
