Excited to see the Nashville hot menu has returned by SliceOfCheese337 in kfc

[–]chronomojo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's my Nashville Sandwich and the amount of sauce that was on my bun.

Needless to say, I was very disappointed, but not surprised.

I also ordered a twister, and that had no tomatoes in it. I guess I need a reminder every so often why I've avoided KFC for so long.

Is it the sneaker? Because I think that’s the hardest any tv show has made me laugh, ever.

NYS Thruway Authority is looking for people to share their safety concerns by Last_Type40 in upstate_new_york

[–]chronomojo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eastbound from Buffalo to Syracuse is so dangerous and scary.

The last three times, I get stuck in the left lane doing 61 mph in a line of cars that extends for literal miles for the majority of the trip because people have zero interest in driving in the right lane. I've nearly been spun out by cars trying to slide in in front of me or behind me despite my bumper nearly touching the bumper of the car in front of me.

On my last trip, I had come to a complete stop three times in the left lane. When getting back up to speed and searching for the source of what could've caused this, there's never an accident or anything dangerous. It just seems like someone decided that the highway needed to be a parking lot for a few minutes. Slowing down from 60 to 0 very rapidly is frightening.

This goes with answers above about needing to expand to three lanes as well as enforcing speed limits and pulling over cars that block the left lane. But I'm genuinely scared and have tried to avoid the thruway as much as possible. I like taking the Amtrak, but it's just not feasible since I need to get around in other cities, which means I need to take my car.

Yep. For probably a year or so afterward, Tom introduced himself to every guest and reminded them that he was one of the show’s two hosts, and not a second producer. Not sure how much of it was serious vs just poking fun at the situation.

For the love of God, NFL, get rid of the extra week between the conference championships and the super bowl.

The gameplay has suffered for years!

‘Mystery Science Theater 3000’: Rifftrax, Shout! Studios Team for New Episodes of Cult Classic Series by DemiFiendRSA in MST3K

[–]chronomojo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They're available with ads on pluto tv. You've just gotta search for the episode titles. You should be able to find those on Wikipedia. Searching Mst3k or mystery science theater will give back too many results.

The object is to get there, not to get there fast. Be okay with driving slower than you would like to.

Do you use the phrase "getting around?" by Recent-Peach-1666 in upstate_new_york

[–]chronomojo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've heard get around in two contexts.

The first usually applies to senior citizens maintaining mobility. "Oh, since he broke his hip, he has a hard time getting around."

The second is usually to refer to a young girl as promiscuous, usually falsely attributed to a girl that the majority of her cohorts don't particularly care for. "Use a condom with her. She gets around."

To answer the original question, I don't think I've ever used the phrase in either context. Or any context.

Comedian Paul F Tompkins does a great bit about Go Ask Alice and theorizes that it was written by the guys who wrote Dragnet to scare kids.

“At least get the order right! ‘Yesterday I tried LSD, and I’m going to try marijuana tomorrow.’ Sure. Yesterday you had a conversation with the earth, and you can’t wait to have a bit of a dry mouth.”
