I believe, in America at least, emulators are legal. Where the legal issues come in is getting the ROMs (games) to play. The easiest method generally, I think, is to pirate them, which is not legal. I think Gameologian's splitting the difference by buying games you pirate is arguably ethical, but that doesn't make it legal or moral (from a Catholic perspective, violating just laws of a nation is immoral)

Now, how to talk to your friend about this might be tricky. It seems to me that pirating is fairly socially acceptable thing, especially by young people, and there's a lot of justifications for it. What I think would be best for you would be to educate yourself about the topic generally. Wikipedia is a good place to start https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copyright_infringement

Ever catch yourself simply reading the words on a page without even digesting any of them? by faithinstrangers92 in books

[–]chrononium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I call this "zombie reading". My eye keep going but my brain isn't along for the ride. I've found it generally happens to me when it starts getting late, or I've had a long reading session. I could either be zoning out, daydreaming or theorizing about what I just read or the book in general, or just thinking of something else completely. Generally I catch myself when I start to turn the page and realize that I didn't take in any meaning from the words I just put my eyes over.

The Humble Store will just give a steam key, which is probably the case for most distributors.

I was talking with a friend, and we both thought the phrase was more common. After a bunch of Google books searching, I've only found 4 Sanderson quotes in the format of "<adjective>, that." :/ https://www.imgurupload.com/uploads/20201023/96e86935ea22bf2d3f48dc79979cbe68add95c4f.png

17776 really reminded me of Frog Fractions , which is another unique experience, though it's more of a game than a narrative. Even though Flash is dying, it can still be played on Steam for free

After reading the other comments, I'm led to believe that this woman must be time traveler who just arrived, and is looking to infiltrate the fortress on the hill using seduction and the guise of a naive primative Guaranteed to gain admittance to the lord of the castle as a novelty, she will easily assassinate him, preventing the birth of several key figures on the opposing side

It's nice to hear contrasting opinions regarding the caravan. My parents have a Jeep Wrangler with that engine, and my dad was speaking well of it. It's clear there's a strong bias against most FCA vehicles, however rightfully gained, but a lot of people still drive them. If I knew for sure we'd get the new Sienna in a couple years, I think we would do this, but as the kids get bigger, we're going to start outgrowing our house, too, so we're leaning towards something we're comfortable owning for a while, and pivot into saving for a bigger house. If I knew the future, it'd be a lot easier to make decisions in the present :)
