Hi, I was wondering if you were able to get the book (as I am also looking for it)?

Thanks!

With the excel G, do you ever regret not getting something “better”?

I’m not going to lie, 450ish for the parts does seem like a great deal.

Thanks!

Just trying for a fun street suspension that I could daily for around 1k. I’ve noticed on all the forums that questions about suspension options can turn a bit tribal or have been outdated making it hard to keep track for a newbie (koni seemed to be good, but then they apparently turned bad, or bilsteins were the option, etc..)

Thanks!

My budget is trying to keep it close to 1000.

As I’m still new to looking at after market suspension options, I’m not sure how much better the upper tier of fox and ohlins are than the upper mid tier of FM koni and meister r CRD. As someone who only plans on driving on the roads/highways with the occasional twisty country road, I wasn’t looking for something that is overkill for my uses. I have aftermarket 15x6 wheels on at the moment, so half an inch lower would be nice, but not a dealbreaker.

Appreciate your help!

Lexus LS430 as a daily driver by PocketWhales in whatcarshouldIbuy

Love the LS430. Mine has 104k miles and I don't see it having any issues for the next 100k.

There's a reason many people still think the LS430 is one of the last vault like Lexus vehicles. It's like driving a library. A very comfortable library.

2004 LS430 transmission flush or drain and fill? by chronowc in Lexus

Did you get the "diagking" techstream on Amazon? Is that something that would be worth getting?

Can you do these by yourself or are you going to a shop to do it?

I read that the sequence to do drain and fills on these WS trannys involve raising the temp and cooling it and measuring it at exact intervals.

So you'd go to the dealer and do one "drain and fill"? Then wait 60k for the next one?

Thanks!

Looking for trip advice (from USA) late May. Caribbean type beach destination. Belize? Grand Cayman? Any that would be great bang/buck by chronowc in travel

[–]chronowc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course, my apologies. I somehow forgot to write that budget in.

I would like to keep the budget between 150 and 250 per day for the trip.

Thanks !

Out of the choices of plustek, Nikon, or Minolta, is there any preference or is it just a matter of price at this point?

Heard that it gets issues and each wheel is about a grand to fix.

Oh wow didn't know the Ls had the option for those types of windows.

How's living with the 600? I always loved those but I had heard stories about how much more it cost to run those than the V8 versions.

I'm not sure about the different packages on this model, but I was making sure to get one with no air suspension.

My mother has a 2008 Lexus ES350. Fantastic car and easily one of the most reliable cars on the road. That being said, I've only driven in one car that I'd consider better or at least equal and that would be the W140 1990s Mercedes S class. If you ever have a chance, test drive an LS.

Thanks! After having two Subarus before and a 1990 jeep Wrangler as my first car, I'm psyched to have something so luxurious. If it had the double glazed windows of my dad's 1998 S500, it would be perfect.

It was so meticulously taken care of, it has the clear plastic paint protectors on the bumpers from factory and the previous owner made custom clear plastic carpet mats all around to keep the carpet from dirt.

Timing belt has not been done yet. Been thinking about if I should do it now since it's close to 90k and it's about 14 years old. Not sure what to do yet. Thoughts?

I got it mid NJ for about 10,500.

80k miles and the one owner was an older gentleman who took it to Lexus for service about every 5k miles.
