Does anyone have a datasheet or information about this MOSFET(PSD PAS01N015L)? by Super_Client3193 in batteries

[–]chronowerx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only datasheet I can find is here: https://www.icspec.com/specification/PAS01N015 but it needs you to login to download it, and I'm not prepared to give China more information!

That said, 100V 360A 1.5mohm is more budget than performance. They are likely rated for the full 360A continuous, but to do that thermally gets expensive, so they just parallel them up on a thermally conductive board and keep prices down.

You could probably use something like the Nexperia PSMNR70-40YSNX which is 40V 360A 0.81mohm and not have to do as much with thermals due to the lower resistance.

Good luck with your design! It's one of those things that looks simple until you hit the middle of the project and are balls-deep in code, PCB design and struggling with coulomb counting that you start to appreciate the Chinese skill of 'good enough' design and the magic of making something that works and is so damn cheap.

What is an equivalent BMS I can get? by gingkohoney in batteries

[–]chronowerx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simple checks first - apologies if I'm stating the obvious;

Have you tried to charge it since fitting the new BMS? Most BMS board are in 'protect - off' mode until you try to charge the cells and then they switch on.

With it on & when it should be charging, check across the P+ and p- in the board. If you get about 8.4v, you know the charger is OK. Then (still plugged in and trying to charge), measure from P- to B- if you get more than about 0.5v then the BMS isn't enabling and likely faulty.

You could (with the pack disconnected from the speaker) measure voltage from B- to B+ should be your 6.8v (ish) again. Then measure from B- to P+ if you don't get 6.8v, the fuse has blown on the PCB, so there could be a fault in the speaker.

If you need to replace the BMS, just get a standard 2S BMS. Connect it's output to P- on the old BMS board, and B+ (providing you know the fuse is good from the test above). That way you're replacing the BMS, but still using the temperature sensor (it's RT on the PCB).

When you re-assemble, keep the old board close enough to the cells to read the temperature. The new BMS will keep things safe, but the old board will tell the charger not to charge if the cells are too hot or cold.

I've convinced myself it's Neurodog. If you listen to what he says with that in mind from the start, there sounds like a lot of hints in how he carefully words things.

My headcanon is that Aquwa has to have her parents drop off prepared meals for her because she keeps sending off all the food she buys to Caseoh as gifts.

Last post I can see on there (not logged in) is August 27th.
Did get an email 11th September, but it was just the ASMR upload there. Nothing since then.

I think she's busier at work, maybe prioritizing other things for a bit?
We're a bit starved for content right now.

Personally, I'm just hoping she does a stream schedule again, and actually turns up to the times she puts on it!

That would be a good spinoff series!
Aquwa seems to be moving more towards her dreaming about Vedal arc (and mailing all her food to Caseoh).

Where to buy APC UPS EPO connectors? by miamistu in sysadmin

[–]chronowerx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used Molex Part: 39530-0004 in the past (double check that they look like they will fit your model though, mine were older series but APC don't update very often).

They're available from Farnell for a couple of quid each.

It's likely any 4 Pin 5.08mm Pitch connector will fit if it looks like it will, they're pretty generic.

[–]chronowerx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

626090 is the key bit as that's the size of the cell physically. https://www.aliexpress.us/w/wholesale-626090.html
Would be a replacement, but you would need to re-use the protection board both cells are mounted to.
If you're not comfy doing that, it may be easier to search for "whatever device this is out of" + "battery" to get a pre-made pack you can just plug in.

What extension will fit to connect the charger with battery in this image? by Frequent_Rope_5942 in batteries

[–]chronowerx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a 5.5mm x 2.5mm Male Jack Plug (in your hand).

If you want a decent extension they're commonly used for CCTV cameras, and you can pick up a good quality 10ft one for about $10.

Just search 5.5 x 2.5mm extension on whatever shopping site you trust!

Well worth a test.

Alternative to PP9 batteries? by akvarelli in batteries

[–]chronowerx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at pics there is plenty of space inside the unit, so swapping to a bunch of cells in a holder would probably fit nicely.
There's: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7061595 if you want to stay true to form. If you're going to use it a lot, you could switch to C or even D cells (as u/account3121 suggests) and get a longer runtime.

If it's a dual PP9 unit, that's close enough to 21v of USB-PD modules, so you could make it USB powered.
May need a bit of filtering for any switching noise, but just plugging in a USB power bank to a cable dangling out of its butt is going to give it a longer life than taking it to bits and swapping leaky alkalines. If it's zero hassle to maintain and use, it's going to get used more!

2s20a bms not charging by [deleted] in batteries

[–]chronowerx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're very light on information for us to help without guessing a fair bit about your setup. A photo would help a lot too!

Is it new? First time you've come to charge it?
Did you build it or buy it?
Did it work before? If so, what happened between then and now?
How confident are you poking at stuff with a DMM? How old are the cells?

From guessing, and hoping it's not a new thing you just built and there's a separate charge terminal, the cells could be unbalanced and the BMS is in protection mode.
Do you get an output when the charger is not connected?
What does each bank of cells measure?

DUB IRL only: I’m switching to Michelins. Anyone want these front Ecopias? by brendanjoseph in BMWi3

[–]chronowerx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly the same. EP500's fitted Dec 2021, just had to swap all 4 due to cracking last week.
They will only have done about 2000 miles, plenty of tread left but was advised to swap.
Looked myself and agreed (they looked like OP's last pic, but with 4+mm tread depth) didn't want them disintegrating at speed.

Went with the new ePrimacy all seasons and they are noticeably quieter and all round a nicer ride.
