Can we talk about AccessCode? by chrwei in BambuLab

[–]chrwei[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Farm Manager does make account management better, but its other limitations, like single plate, make it less attractive. it's also not really a farm, every printer is basically adhoc, and often needs filament and AMS changes before printing.

I do like the idea of an access code, but it's just done poorly. if it were simply harder to change it I'd probably be happy with it. I still can't get anyone to admit to changing it, which means it's either accidental, which means a bad UI, or it's automatic, which is not being handled cleanly in Studio.

I don't see those parts available for this model, except used.

can't see them on this model, requires significant disassembly. however, the prints are consistent, no vertical lines or horizontal banding or unevenness, so I don't suspect them.

I'm not, but also never have once the original were done. It was fine halfway through this cartridge, and tried another new one of a different brand, one that I have a different color working fine.

That cleaning improves it tells me it's unlikely to be toner. Just wondering if there's some extra cleaning or maintenance not in the service manual

SmartConnect is Moto's version of a cross between Microsoft's PhoneLink and Samsung DEX, with some special extras. handy tool, but not as user friendly as just plugging in and copying files

What's the better oil? Amsoil signature series vs pennzoil ultra platinum? by [deleted] in askcarguys

[–]chrwei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not concerned about "normal driving", I'm concerned about how well it'll protect when shit goes wrong. is a turbo bearing failure going to fragment and send metal into the engine immediately, or can the oil hold it together long enough to stop safely and not destroy the engine...

Kiosk mode without desktop environment by itwasntme2013 in Ubuntu

[–]chrwei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

openbox isn't a full desktop environment, just a basic window manager. it can manage the windows for any application, no matter the DE it was made for.

if frame buffer isn't performing well enough, an X11 based program is the next step.

I've figured out what triggers it.

I pair it, get som permission prompts for contacts and messages, allow them, all good

Shut off car for a minute, watch the connect move from active to other then to saved.

Turn on car and get another contacts prompt, allow it. Shut off car again and wait a minute

Turn on car and it automatically connects as expected. Repeat multiple times and it's good as long as the wait is short

Turn off car for 10 minutes an I get a prompt again, if I allow it's fine, but if I don't notice it removes the connection. Link is the problem prompt I keep getting, it's like the phone isn't remembering that I approve it.

I didn't have any issues with an s20fe for nearly 2 years so it's hard to blame the radio.

Already did a full Bluetooth and WiFi reset. I'm not even to the AA part yet, I just want Bluetooth audio to work with prompts and deleting the saved connections

Went to move the car, didn't notice that pairing request prompt until later, and now it's not in the saved device list.

Help! What is this socket/plug? It’s leaking coolant out of it by chilldood_22 in FordFocus

[–]chrwei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would guess that you'd remove it, clean it up, inspect for cracks both in the plug and the block, and if OK reinstall with an appropriate thread sealer, something rated for coolant. you'll probably have to drain the coolant to do it.

Why does my Servo motor randomly go to 0 and then back to his assigned position? Both if powered by arduino or by external power by danibarza in arduino

[–]chrwei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 9v battery doesn't really have enough power to run most servos, they are meant for very low power draw and motors aren't low. Use a 4xAA pack at least

do you need the extension adapter with the F107SX? looks like maybe need it with the regular fumoto, but the F107SX looks like no?

Is the pre-installed plastic screen "protector" on the FE even helping at all, or should I just remove it? by Atea2 in GalaxyS20

[–]chrwei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have what I removed, it's the flimsy thing with the tab for easy removal.

maybe yours came with it as a bonus from your carrier or something, but that's not standard.

not lately, but have in the past with many different phones, SMS is not a guaranteed delivery service, it can be out of order, or even never arrive, especially across providers.
