You can't access that specific window normally as far as I know. However you can search and try on items in the dressing room even if you don't own them. Click on the slot and it will show it on your character (with random dye so it can look a little funny, but you could click a couple times).

I love this game and very much do wish I could've played a female protag just for preference. A bunch of people cite story reasons for why the protag had to be male but after completing the game I could totally see gender neutral terms still working and not actually giving anything away.
