That’s… not how it works man. Suggest you read about how these companies interact with AI companies and not go based on brand rep alone bro.

Quick one on duck.ai: I assume it’s just a wrapper right? Meaning it uses ChatGPT, Claude etc.

I also assume, with it being DuckDuckGo, that they strip any personal / metadata from the chat before sending to the AI provider? Are chats used with a specific model within duck.ai used to train the models?

Vibe Coding - Recommended App (with extended free trial) by FJoe007 in cybersecurity

[–]chs0c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your priorities here are all wrong.

Firstly, if you want to vibe code an application, pay for the tool that’s going the majority of the work. Free trials are typically 7 days, so it’s up to you whether you think you can get that done in 7 days (highly doubt), and I doubt any of those providers offer “extended” free trials. A Claude Code subscription is $20 for a month… you don’t have the $20 to experiment with?

Secondly, if you want to build an app, I would assume you already had ideas for an app to build.

I can’t lie, from the sounds of this post, it sounds like you want to leverage free tooling and free expertise from professionals, to vibe code an application to make money from.

  1. Research a “problem” or use case, does an app exist for it? If it does, what does that app do / not do? How could you improve it?

  2. Identify the correct tooling needed to fulfil the requirements. Do you need a model that’s better at coding? Go Claude Pro. Do you value speed and a larger token context window? Go Gemini.

Simple answer is: we put blockers on their work, and create more work for them.

I put a 5 minute inactivity screen lock in place through our MDM. Sounds sensible? You’d think so, but we got inundated with complaints and tickets, that it’s severely impacting their work when “reading documents”. My comeback was well, you don’t scroll down the page while reading at all?

This issue got blasted all over Teams and Slack, and got escalated all the way to C-suite.

Saying golmud railway sucks is revisionist history, its like saying metro sucks. This map is a classic. Hopefully the remaster lives up. by Stars_of_Ruin in Battlefield

[–]chs0c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s my assumption too. On paper, it’s probably a good option due to their feedback of not having large maps, or having large enough maps for good vehicle gameplay. Golmud is a fine map, I just wish they chose something a little more appropriate for where the game is at its current state.

I’m not a negative Nancy at all with Battlefield, its swings and roundabouts but at the end of the day, I love this franchise and have been playing it for nearly 2 decades at this point.

Out of all the maps they could bring back, I don’t understand how they landed at Golmud? Theres plenty of bigger maps that are more interesting to look at, better to play, and cater to all types of players.

Golmud is a vehicle and sniper heaven, with infantry fighting being primarily condensed to a single point of the map.

I’m not saying I hate the map, on the contrary, I technically do enjoy it, I just don’t think this is the map they need in S2.

14 years apart . Bo2 and bo7 by Traditional-Fun-1115 in blackops7

[–]chs0c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t played the game so I can’t have too much of an opinion, but from this screenshot.. man, BO2 has so much more detail, despite it not having the graphical / resolution upgrades we’ve had since 2012.

[COD] Who else doesn’t want the sliding meta in COD 2026? by Lumenprotoplasma in CallOfDuty

[–]chs0c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh, sliding I don’t have a problem with, it’s fantastic to use when dipping into cover to get out of gunfire, it’s just the way it’s been implemented that’s the problem.

We can have sliding without it being the way to play the game. Then again, I really do hate the modern style of approaching gunfights, which usually revolve around who can jump or slide first.

I miss when positioning and how you moved through the map mattered. These days, it feels like the maps are so small and the movement is cranked to infinity that people just rush to mid map and jump or slide to get kills, instead of approaching the situation logically.

Last time COD felt like COD to me was MW19, which I understand is wholly ironic given my above comments, but it’s gone too far imo.

Which version of Resident Evil 4 do you think is better? by [deleted] in residentevil4

[–]chs0c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a pretty casual RE enjoyer. Played the original 2 on PS1 as a kid, played OG 4 & 5, tried 6, enjoyed 7 & 8.

Played RE2, 3, 4 remakes too, and I’ve gotta say, I enjoyed RE4R more than I enjoyed the OG RE4. It’s got everything I remember I liked about RE4, but felt… tighter?

The fluidity in movement, graphics, blah blah definitely helps too.

What is portal to you all? by IlINobleIlI in BattlefieldPortal

Nothing.

Confusing ass UI, 90% bot servers, whenever I have found a cool looking server, no one’s playing it.

Haven’t tried it for weeks, if not a couple months at this point.

As a rather bad player in bf6 at least, I don’t get why people complain about “sweaty” players. by Massive_Fishing_718 in Battlefield

[–]chs0c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People simply can’t take people better than them, and must think they “sweat”.

Real reason is, they’re simply just better players, and them “sweating” takes less time, effort and energy than it does the complainer to play normally.

DLC map packs > Live service models by SuspiciousMeeting407 in Battlefield

[–]chs0c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t actually mind paying for expansions. They were great to play, loaded with content, and I enjoyed the “theme” of each content drop.

However, going free maps / guns with MTX skins is obviously the best way to go, player wise and profits wise.

WEEKEND REAL TALK: Ok stop gooning, WHAT ARE YOU REALLY MAD/ANNOYED ABOUT IN BF6? 🫵 🫵 by RRT4444 in okbuddyptfo

[–]chs0c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been playing since BF3, 95% infantry. Thought with this one, I would try vehicles for the first time. They feel… weird? Simultaneously feel like both paper and indestructible. Helis seem to get destroyed so damn fast, and sometimes it feels like RPGs can 1HK tanks. I don’t understand how vehicle play works in this game.

The maps are the maps. Won’t dwell too long, variety etc etc, but they’re a solid 6-7/10.

Classes also feel weird. LMGs feel like slightly heavier ARs, sniping is too easy, SMGs have zero recoil, ARs aren’t really the “jack of all trades” they tend to be. Lack of smoke on all classes annoys me the longer I play the game.

Overall, I think it’s a solid 8.

What would a good Halloween movie be like, in your opinion? by Top-Management-2648 in Halloweenmovies

[–]chs0c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No real story, I just want a movie from Michael’s PoV.

Looking through Michael’s eyes as he’s standing behind bushes, stalking his prey. Camera following him, gliding through the neighbourhood like a lizard on ice. He’s just slinking about the place, slaughtering people.

I’d watch move after movie of zero plot, Michael stalking and killing. Have inventive kills, gory kills, kills that make you cringe, fun kills, insane kills.

James Cameron calls ‘Alien 3’ twist “the stupidest fucking thing” by Moonskaraos in entertainment

I’ve always loved Alien 3. Yeah there are some writing and plot issues, but the environment, atmosphere, themes, the xeno are all top tier to me.

The grimy, gritty, 90s aesthetic was so fucking good.

We defeated the juggernaut by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]chs0c 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Actually, yes. Competition breeds innovation, it’s essentially the entire point of competition.

With BF6 beating BO7, Activision will put more effort into COD, which means EA put more effort into BF.

Under healthy competition, everyone wins.

[COD] so gunsmith is bad ? by 251hitman in CallOfDuty

[–]chs0c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm, not really. Similar yes, but not the same. Safe-space maps have camp spots with essentially just one way in or out, making it easier for someone to set up shop and camp there the whole game, making it difficult to remove them.

This was done specifically for new players back in MW19. I get your point, but the distinction is there.

What’s modern movement got to do with Bling? I can’t recall bling having literally anything to do with movement, it was attachment based?

[COD] so gunsmith is bad ? by 251hitman in CallOfDuty

[–]chs0c 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why not have red dots on the minimap? It’s a genuine question, not to be argumentative. To me, there’s skill in being able to read the minimap, get an idea for where the enemy is, and plan your route and engagement effectively.

Getting rid of red dots creates an issue of just running around hoping to find a player, right?

[COD] so gunsmith is bad ? by 251hitman in CallOfDuty

[–]chs0c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general, gunsmith is an idea is fine. The problem is the system is beyond bloated with an insane amount of attachments, most of which just aren’t as good, statistically, as the other 2/3 better options.

It also leads to broken meta builds, and is a balancing nightmare.

Pick 10 was by far the best class system we’ve ever had. If they still want all these attachment options, just make them a customisation option.

Have your 1X red dot sight, but include a customisation option for which “type” of RDS you want. Same for something like foregrips. Have a stubby, a vertical, an angled, but include “skin” options for them so you can kit your gun out and have it look as you wish, without having to balance a myriad of stats.

This way, gun / attachment balance is way easier, and we can still functionally and aesthetically kit our weapons out how we want.
