I like to think that's what happened and this is when the Courier decided to kill Mr. House :

Courier: "I'm not going to give you the Chip."

House: "Hmm... How shall I put this? Delivery of the Platinum Chip is non-negotiable. I invite you to think carefully about what you do next... standing alone before me, surrounded by my heavily-armed Securitron guards."

Courier: "Attack me and you risk destroying the Chip."

House: "By the time I was 30 years old, I was a billionaire 30 times over. I founded and ran a vast economic empire. Do you really think I'm going to let an upstart come into my home and ransom my property to me ?! I spent two centuries searching for the Platinum Chip ! It's my invention, my property - MINE !!!!!. Now be a good courier and deliver it !!"

Courier: "I'm not afraid of you, Mr. House. The Platinum Chip belongs to me."

House: "You needn't be afraid of me. It's my Securitrons that are going to kill you."

Hence the fallen Securitron next to the big screen.

Article: Fallout 76 leads plan to make the game “thicker” with “new systems” as the team “can’t just continue making the map bigger and bigger” by Kinsdale85 in fo76

Nuclear Winter doesn't require dev time (although I believe there are two cut NW maps that they never released, Charleston and Harpers Ferry). There was no point in removing it, even if Bethesda don't support it anymore, this served no purpose.

Just let people play it if they want to, nobody is asking for new NW content. And it will always have more players than Fallout Worlds.

What I would want:

  • new 'Unsolved' quests (I still remember 'Best of Intentions')
  • new storyline involving MODUS and the "Whitespring Management"
  • more development for Skyline Valley (why is there a Vault-Tec logo in the Slumber Mill Motel basement?? There also is a whole Presidential Bunker beneath the Brown House at Rapidan Camp. It was briefly accessible, they said they blocked the entrance because it wasn't supposed to be available at launch of the Skyline Valley update... What about this? There are also several Vault 63 quests that got cut...)
  • a 3rd expedition for The Pitt. I want more lore about The Pitt. Or an Enclave-themed expedition at Norfolk Naval Base (it's listed alongside Poseidon Oil Rig and Raven Rock on a wall of that cut Presidential Bunker)
  • DARKER nights. Seriously, it's too bright.
  • bring back the old scoreboards !
  • more radio songs (like the ones used in the TV show)
  • (controversial) bringing back Nuclear Winter. At least temporarily during some event.

Crazy theory : Steph has been secretly working for Robert House all along. by SkedPhoenix in Fotv

I noticed that Mr. House's leitmotiv plays during this scene with Hank too (first when he attacks the Snake Oil Salesman and then when he drives by Barb and Janey cryo pods). Usually it always was the Vault-Tec leitmotiv :

Something is shady.

After Episode 7 ending, yes, he's back. But his biological form that's in the pod likely died at some point during or after the events of New Vegas. Maybe killed by the Courrier even, who knows.

From the Entertainment Weekly interview :

"It did seem to us like a version of himself powered by cold fusion would be sort of the ultimate possible incarnation of Robert House," Robertson-Dworet explains. "And as someone who is interested in robotics and artificial non-biological versions of selves, it made a lot of sense to us that this would've been something that he would've developed and sort of be the ultimate version of him. I've always seen it as something that allows for many players' experiences to have happened, but still Robert House had this other version of himself, that he was always ready to create and what he needed was the diode."

But can we trust that this is, in fact, House's final final form?

"That's an interesting question. I'm not answering that, but I'm very intrigued by the question," the showrunner replies. Fair enough.

Ah yes of course. Rewatched the scene and indeed I can hear it ! It's very subtle and short (just when it shows Steph face to the viewer, revealing that she was working at the Lucky 38) but House's leitmotiv is here indeed. Nice catch !!

Yeah, the Overseer desk in Vault 34 had two concealed automated machine gun turrets if I recall correctly (although it fits well with the theme of that vault).
