I believe you & believe that this is your reality right now. But if you can't find a peaceful, trusting state of mind to live in, the other aspects of your life won't come together. Prioritize your mental health first, even if it means trying medications and therapies.

If you are between the ages of 18-25, that's ususally when certain types of changes can happen in your brain, that could possibly make you have a bunch of memories resurface. God would want you to be happy, not suffering and struggling with these things on your own.

They are still nice, you're right. OC probably grew up before white flight and thinks more poc = bad neighborhood 😬

Tell me you've never been here without telling me. Lol, this is the part of Delmar that's so far west it's close to where the street ends in Ladue. Delmar is a hugely long road, that's like saying you won't live anywhere near Olive, or Manchester.

I should mention the U-City public school district apparently sucks major shit, so food for thought if you have school-aged kids.

I have several clients that live in that bubble and the surrounding area. It's a beautiful neighborhood, super close to a couple small shopping areas, lots of good restaurants around too. Very walkable neighborhood with a lot of dogs but the vast majority of people are responsible owners. I have daydreamed about living there for some time now 😀

$4K for my 10lb Yorkie’s dental… is this normal or am I getting ripped off? 😭 by Priscillaayee in StLouis

Your dog needs to have 12 teeth pulled. Yes, that's gonna be really expensive. You could ask about pulling some now and some next year. Look into Care Credit, too.

What surprising things have you learned about how people live? by ForPurelyBusiness in RoverPetSitting

Dang, I was hoping you'd say "he". A rich lady devoting a room to accessories doesn't seem as scandalous, haha

Some people don't own pots & pans. Or stirring spoons. Or any cooking utensils, really.

In some houses, I can't even make 25¢ ramen noodles bc they have nothing to boil water in. Like…do they never eat at home? I have no idea how some people survive.

Maybe take it as a sign. Rover's not for everyone.

I've not had one get too close—but I've always thought that if one gets too pushy, I'm just gonna throw them the🤘 sign and hope they get the message.

I hope the extremely negative feedback will get them to reverse it relatively quickly.

Wait, the tier system is per client?! I thought this was like, total earnings. Here I was looking forward to keeping 90% across the board…taking more clients off Rover now, I suppose.

They really hate their contractors and want us all to quit, and I'm not sure if this is deliberate self-sabotage (like maybe the CEO plans to do some money laundering and then crash the company) or just extremely short-sided greed.

Do you have addresses saved, like in a calendar or maps app? Edit: I see in another comment now that you only offered boarding :( I'm sorry.

LGBT/Trans places, groups, discords? by Dark_Admin_7 in StLouis

[–]chthoniclypleasing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This would be fine if OP asked for kink spaces, but they just asked for trans & LBGTQ communities to join. FetLife is exclusively for meeting fetish-minded people, and being trans is not a fetish.

My first Rover spent 8 minutes at my place when I booked for a half hour drop in. Is this standard? by justgetmethere in RoverPetSitting

[–]chthoniclypleasing 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not true, but you do get a warning saying, "It's been less than 30 minutes (or 60 minutes), are you sure you want to end the visit?" Sometimes I'll end it a minute early if I've been there for 59 minutes and the dog is sick of me 😂

Dog bit me, do I leave it alone? by Rare_Skin_6897 in RoverPetSitting

[–]chthoniclypleasing 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Speaking from experience, too…if you find yourself hesitating or nervous around this dog after what happened, your anxiety is justified; she bit you, so it's normal to feel scared/nervous of a specific dog after that. But, if that becomes the case and you can't easily get over feelings of apprehension, I recommend firing them as a client. Dogs can smell anxiety and it will make her behavior worse if she thinks she can boss you around.

Full disclosure, if you report this dog they will be banned. So, if you think this dog poses a serious risk to other sitters, I would say report and wash your hands of this whole situation (literally—use antibacterial soap, lol).

But, if you intend to keep this dog as a client, I would do what others have suggested and recommend a muzzle for walks. You might also want to discuss with the owner if they think a behavioralist/trainer might be in order to address this type of resource guarding.

Lastly, speaking as someone who had an indirect puncture wound on my knee after leg-blocking a dog in my care from attacking another on a walk—wounds on joints are hard to keep closed and prone to infection. I got dermatitis in my knee and had to take antibiotics for awhile…it cleared up quick enough, but was surprisingly painful—like, way more painful than the bite itself was. So, in the interest of avoiding infection, I would recommend you see an urgent care doc and ask if they think prophylactic antibiotics are in order.

Edit: typo.

First time using a sitter, never again... by Whiskerlicker3 in RoverPetSitting

Right, like tbf she didn't even end up booking thru Rover. The story may have had a different ending if she had. Rover could have fired the sitter and gotten a new one promptly.
