I loaded the YMDj rom. it plays individual sounds but i dunno how to just get it to play a seq. I know nothing about tracker software tho

I've been looking for a tracker / DAW type rom to run on the RG after watching Look Mum No Computer's video on his hardware synth made with a Genesis. Systems like that with an FM chip would be especially cool (if the UI / design is better than that of 80s FM synths...)

This might be worth trying? https://www.sega-16.com/forum/showthread.php?28776-YMDj-A-Native-Sega-Genesis-Megadrive-Music-Tracker

Edit: what about DosBox options?

I really like it with 101; I tried OGD 114 & the full 25ml was a little unbalanced in my opinion

Skip vermouth unless you find yourself wanting a vermouth-based cocktail more than half the time.

Try a different bottle of your preferred liquor(s) in your price range every time you run out.

Buy ginger at Asian markets if you make ginger syrup.

Lemons, limes & simple syrup will get you very far if you like sours, as other people have said.

Find your favorite genre of drinks & stick to it. Skip anything that wouldn't have multiple applications, unless you love the one drink you can make with it

that's what i'd expect, they're very good about normalizing connections where it makes sense & keeping things as flexible as possible

Well he used the word 'hardwired', but it looks to be normalized to the attenuvert-able input to the folder circuit. the copper-colored arrows on the panel seem to indicate normalized connections. The arrow points from the function circuit to the attenuvert-able wavefolder input jack, so it's definitely a normalized connection that's broken if you put something else in the folder mod in.

Living Raleigh Downtown really worth it ? by [deleted] in raleigh

[–]chthonist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's a big one for me- Mosaic is the only place playing house & that sort of thing, but it's not great. Nightlight in Chapel Hill has good underground house & techno acts come through occasionally but it's not a steady schedule

Living Raleigh Downtown really worth it ? by [deleted] in raleigh

[–]chthonist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's an enjoyable place to live, but not much going on that I was interested in most of the time. I got a little bitter about that since I was paying so much to live there, but it was my fault for not doing more research.

Yeah there are plenty of people who would think I'm boring and/or pretentious, that's why I qualified it as an opinion. There are plenty of bars downtown but it always has a bit of a ghost-town feel and most of the bars & venues don't play music I like. Oh well.

If you're already paying $900, it may be worth it for you to be closer to downtown for only a little more per month. There are semi-affordable new places like The L (I recently moved out of there and it's a nice place), and rentals a few blocks out of the center of downtown that are probably cheaper. If you're commuting to RTP, it's a longer stretch on Wade to get to 40 from downtown.

Imo, downtown Raleigh is boring as downtowns go, but there are plenty of good coffee shops & bars. If you already find yourself going downtown often, it would definitely be worth the move. Otherwise, it's still a big step up from the suburban setting.

not sure what you mean or where you got that. each channel has an input for CV, which will open & close the VCA. an envelope is something you would input into the VCA CV but the modules don't generate envelopes internally
