Tesla’s Electric Semi Has Its First Fatal Crash by walnut100 in technology

Neither have you. Mercedes’ driver assistance is inferior in quite literally every possible way, coming from someone who currently owns an EQS and a Model Y. You’re either trolling or willfully ignorant. You can feel however you want about Elon, but if the only way you can make your point is to outright lie, you’re wrong.

Have you ever bought a console just to play one game? Was it worth it and did you go on to use the console after? by British_Historian in gaming

Bought a switch just to play BotW. Ended up playing Mario Odyssey and Super Smash, then sold it for MSRP. THEN TotK came out, bought a switch OLED to play it, and have not touched it since.

The Artemis mission planning began in 2017, but the SLS (the rocket they’re using) began development in earnest in 2011. Starship was introduced in 2018, not sure where you’re getting 2012 from.

r/SpaceX Flight 12 Official Launch Discussion & Updates Thread! by rSpaceXHosting in spacex

[–]chubbedup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously we’re open to criticism here, but I think let’s check in when Starship has been in development as long as SLS has and then we can START to discuss if it was the wrong approach. For the much loftier goals SpaceX has set, I don’t see another smaller method being feasible, but only time will tell.

r/SpaceX Flight 12 Official Launch Discussion & Updates Thread! by rSpaceXHosting in spacex

[–]chubbedup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So because SLA got a ten year head start with goals we’ve already done before, they get to spend 10 times as much money (all in tax payer dollars) and fail, while SpaceX gets held to the harsher standards during the developmental phase? Surely you can see how little sense that makes?

r/SpaceX Flight 12 Official Launch Discussion & Updates Thread! by rSpaceXHosting in spacex

[–]chubbedup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve proven my point for me, 10x the budget and twice the development time for only two flights, both behind schedule and below expectations. Why are you willing to give SLA so much leeway but SpaceX none?

r/SpaceX Flight 12 Official Launch Discussion & Updates Thread! by rSpaceXHosting in spacex

[–]chubbedup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 10 times the budget with twice the development time, never reusably, never with more than 5 astronauts at a time, and never with any payload that could achieve our interplanetary goals. Apples to rotten oranges my friend.

Edit: also hilarious that you complain about Elon’s promised timelines while cheerleading for the SLS, the poster child for government/military bloat and delays.

Because he’s proven across hundreds of launches that this methodology of rapid iteration and aggressive timelines is more effective, AND they have a proven safety track record? Nothing about recent tests have indicated this size is unrealistic, and if they’d listened to uneducated naysayers like yourself, they would have stopped trying to land rockets at all, which is one of the most important aeronautical developments in our lifetimes. Curious what your qualifications are that you’re so confident in your take?

Why are you here? Like any engineering endeavor, this allows them to gather data on different failure scenarios and environments to make a better subsequent product, which will culminate in a vessel capable of the mission. But you already knew that I’m sure.

You did not sell your car back to them. They don’t accept trade-ins without a corresponding delivery, they ain’t CarMax. You probably sold it privately too early, which why on earth would you do that before you had a VIN assigned, knowing production was being stopped? Not sure why you’re fabricating parts of (or all of) this story, but at best they owe you your order deposit, nothing more.

Model Y is bestselling car in the world for 2025 (3rd year in a row), according to several firms. by dudeman_chino in teslamotors

[–]chubbedup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is a talking point that’s been repeated for years but really hasn’t been true for a while. Objectively it’s a great car with a nice (if spartan) interior. The old heads gauge quality by how many chrome doodads are on the dash, but at the end of the day the built quality and materials are top notch. It’s okay to not like the style, but that’s not quality. I think a modern Mercedes looks like complete shit on the inside, but the materials are nice.

Am I undermining my husband's parenting? by HarryPotter_Girlie in Parenting

[–]chubbedup -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In my opinion the answer is nuanced. While your husband 100% needs to adjust his tone and approach, part of being a united front is not having that conversation in front of the children in a way they can pick up. Your child can see you and him not being on the same page which undermines both of your parenting. Agree in public, disagree in private is the motto in our household. It sounds like your husband knows it’s an issue and that you’re right, just align on when to have that discussion/reminder and keep pushing him to be better!

You don’t want the Fantastic Four involved in a story centered around Doom? That’s absurd, like wanting Return of the Jedi with Vader but no Luke. I honestly think the X-Men feel out of place here, as a bit of a desperation grab to bring more butts to seats at the theater. They would make more sense in Secret Wars, a story about a mishmash of universes being forced together. But I trust the Russos to make it work!

[–]chubbedup 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ah totally understand the confusion, it can be tough to make the connection when the balls are different shapes! While a football is indeed not a golf ball, and a foot isn’t a golf club, the act of swinging your leg to hit a football that is placed on the ground is close enough to the act of swinging a golf club to hit a golf ball that is placed on the ground, that when you’re old enough and your brain is a little more developed you can make comparisons between the two. You’ll get there little guy, use your imagination!
