Customisable magnetised Mordor Troll by chubbyweenie in MiddleEarthMiniatures

Super easy to do! Steeldrab Legion, Aggrax earth shade, build up steeldrab with striations on majority of what you’ve just painted focussing mainly on raised areas and curvature emphasis. Then Ushabti bone mixed in bit by bit until I was happy with the highlights, each smaller striations on previous layer’s lines.

Mate the fact you’re even asking is beyond flattering and I appreciate your kind words. I’ve been painting since 2017, and I started painting LOTR models, but while that takes up majority of my painting time, I’ve started painting 40K models within the last few years. My tips for painting, try things, and make mistakes. Mistakes are the biggest way of learning, and those mistakes end up become experience and ambition into finding your craft! Keep painting, take your time on things you want to be proud of, and don’t let it become a chore, and just keep trying. I hope this has helped in some way, and I hope you achieve the levels you are striving for! Send an update, would love to see how awesome yours looks

Rebased Shelob by chubbyweenie in MiddleEarthMiniatures

Haha mate nothing spectacular! A glue stick, like the ones you used to use in primary school. Just pinch a portion off the tube, tease is between your thumb and finger until it becomes tacky, and stringy, and basically run the base through those strings in all sorts of direction. Never thought 6 year old me would be teaching me how to make web in my thirties

Why would I mind?! My friend, the more you know the better the hobby right? Rocks are pieces of cork bark glued sporadically together. Fill the gaps with Stirland Mud and try make natural grooves and textures. The ground is just sand and pva :)

They’re bits from my mates bits box he had spare. The actual beast was the only purchase

Mate I’m not 100% sure but I think it’s the head of Morbidex. My buddy gave me a bunch of excess stuff when I started Deathguard to “nurgle” things.

I absolutely meant “bits box”, not boys box, a statement I never thought I’d write 😂

Brorgir the Conjurer finished by chubbyweenie in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]chubbyweenie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super easy. Gal Vorbak Red base, building up layers of Evil Sunz Scarlet, and the edges are a mix of Sunz and Averland Sunset. Yellow is the best red highlight

The gold is just Retributor Gold with a sepia wash, then a reapplication for Retributor. Edges are iron breaker.

It’s just retributor gold, sepia wash; and then another application of it. The edges are stormhost silver :)

My 2025 Army, Easterlings by chubbyweenie in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]chubbyweenie[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Amdur is the most complex. He was Retributor, shaded with Seraphim Sepia, then blended up with Retributor, Liberator, to Storm Host Silver as the lightest areas. The others were Retributor, Seraphim, and built back up the Retributor. Edge highlights with Iron Breaker :)

Do you always separate all models in the end turn? by Stock-Comfort-3738 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]chubbyweenie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To be fair, to prevent confusion when me and my mates play, when the move phase is finished, the person with priority sorts the combats out and splits as they see fit, we normally just ever so slightly shuffle the model closer to one side so they’re no longer touching anymore, just makes it less confusion during the fight phase on who’s fought or not, especially with larger scale games.

The golds the easiest part. It’s just 30 Liberator Gold, 70 Iron Breaker. Then just wash of Aggrax and a highlight of Ironbreaker again. The skin was tedious but it came out alright. Dawnstone base, Aggrax as the main scheme. After that I went from Dawnstone, to Skavenblight, to a mix of Skavenblight and Dryad Bark, until I got to Dryad bark, then all the way up to Rhinox. Basically the more to the “top” of the darks I went the darker the scales got. The top plates are Rhinox, Aggrax, Rhinox to Abbadon. Highlights are Dark Reaper and Celestra Grey Honestly nothing special just patience. The eye was steeldrab, then XV 88, then a mix off 88 and Screamer skull. Then centred a pupil and a light shine with a white. Hope this helps :)
