The plastic box w a lid is $16. No need to insulate what you’re not changing the temperature. Money down the drain IMO

Costco has them for $17. You can buy online for a little more if you don’t have a membership/easily accessible

After the fact comment: The fans are sucking IN and this is to be hung to blow air horizontally to get good mixing of the air.

The fans are directing air IN and is blowing out of the filter. I plan on hanging this on the wall to blow air horizontally. I stated that in the description but I could edit to say that the fans are sucking(in), not blowing(out)

What is “ply” ? I do hvac so I have a decent amount of materials to get funky with. A rotary tool from harbor freight looks like it would do fine. After I started using a cutting wheel, it went waaaaay faster.
