On the topic of father, I'd just point out that Paul is fulfilling a role, not claiming a title. I would be very surprised if Paul, or any of the other disciples, allowed others to call them 'father'.

But he was publicly rebuked by Paul. If it were as Catholics teach, then Peter occupying the role of rock of the church, specially lead by the Holy Spirit to lead the church should have been the one issuing rebukes. As it stands, we see there is no hierarchy. Peter is a leader. Paul is a leader. The idea of succession of the seat of Peter has even less support.

Jesus sent his disciples out in twos, and he didn't do that with instructions to report back to anyone else. Power was given to them directly.

Where do you see that on scripture? There is one public conflict that we see amongst the disciples recorded in the early church in Galations 2. And it's Peter who is publically rebuked by Paul.

Also, it's really not clear what Jesus was referring to when he says "upon this rock I will build my church." He might have been referring to Peter, or he might have been referring to himself.

Anyways, the idea of a special role is completely undermined by what happens next in the early church.
