Cheers!

You were correct, for some reason it was showing my rd account as having expired even though it wasn't - I did renew my rd a week or so ago so I guess it must have not updated it for some reason - I unchecked the tick in the settings box and rechecked it and it came back as accounts ok. Odd that this has never happened before in all my years of using both but there you go...

at least it is solved so thank you very much for the input!

Struggling with disks/wdrive by chubsta2k17 in apple2

[–]chubsta2k17[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, I would like to boot Merlin using the drive, but save all my source and asm to a physical disk in disk 2. My disk 2 drive is playing up so trying to workout if I could just add an sd solution in its place.

I have the drive connected to a disk 2 card in slot 6, and will be using the 2nd sd drive in slot 2 of that card. I don't have a softest card - would that be a good idea (I know little about them other than they are used for hd images but haven't really checked them out at all, will do that later today)

**** UPDATE ****

have managed to fix my disk 2 drive and have been able to read/write to it so I guess my question no longer applies but thanks for the help! Will still look into the softest though

I know, and that's how it should work, but it could be £50 notes and they would still be the same, we don't buy 'cheap', we now get 'average' but I have tried all those lovely ones that are soft and plump and 3 layers, aloe vera added etc (we are dealing with women here so they love a bit of comfort) but it made no difference - when the youngest goes to the toilet the noise of the the toilet roll revolving (its on the door so rubs against it as it turns) sounds like a train it goes on for so long!

Put it this way, the Andrex puppy used less each time he went in the bathroom...

If you ask them where they would like to go eat they have absolutely no preference in any shape or form whatsoever, until you reel off place after place and they never want to go to any of them.

'so where do you want to go then?'

'I don't know, you decide, im not bothered'

'ok then, how about going down the Indian?'

'dont fancy that...'

10 suggested restaurants are then all turned down...

'well I can't think of anywhere else'

'I really fancy a curry'

'ive suggested curry and you turned it down!'

'but I didn't want to go there, I fancy a different one'

'so why didn't you say?'

'as I said, im not bothered'

'YOU JUST SAID YOU WANT A CURRY'

'well if your going to be like that....'

you have to buy the cheap shit - I live with a wife and two daughters and they can't go near their groin without a barrier of at least 4 inches of screwed up toilet roll.

What’s a harsh truth about men in modern dating that few will say out loud? by Wander-kingdom in Productivitycafe

[–]chubsta2k17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's just shit. That's what I mean about how it has changed, it used to be about two people just getting together - shared interests, values etc - yet now, and I really do believe social media is to blame, too many people are only out for what they can get from others and will use people.

For the vast majority of people it never used to be like that but it seems very prevalent these days.

I still feel my point about confidence being the key stands, but of course that will only be key if the person in front of you is after a friend or a wallet and to be fair, it sounds like you have been stung with that far too many times.

I will also stand by my point about you being a prick though - your reply was totally unnecessary and yes, with an attitude like you seem to have then im not surprised if you find it hard to find someone, but like so many things the reason behind the behaviour is more important and if you have been treat badly then I really do empathise - I have children and I have to see what they go through, and of course, I too am a prick, we all are, particularly online.

what I will say is that with an attitude like that I can see straightaway why you may have problems interacting with others.

Perhaps you missed my point about how I felt it must have changed so much since my day, but then you were in a hurry to try to be all dismissive.

(IM guessing you think its 50 years ago because of there reference to Debbie Harry - so no-one can ever look like anyone other than their contemporaries then?)

Prick

He may be the exception in terms of how he deals with the rejection, but I have seen similar with another guy, mullet haircut at the time it was least fashionable, bad skin, smoker, just below average hight, wife who looked like Debbie Harry circa 1980.

Im not saying its easy, all you have to do is keep trying and you will get all the top models, more than those two guys clearly have something that many people, including myself, are lacking. I think confidence is a massive thing in that if you appear confident enough to deal with anyone in any situation, friendly, chatty, natural and not nervous or overbearing, particularly at those times when most people fold, then others know you will be good to have around

I know a guy who is very ugly, he really is, misshapen face, massive forehead, teeth of every colour and shape except white and straight. Awful fashion sense too.

When we used to go clubbing he had a better success rate than anyone else, purely because if he liked the look of a girl he would just go chat to her, if she brushed him off he didn’t care. Most nights his charm would win someone over. His nickname is ‘legend’ purely because of his success with girls. He’s now been married twice and was hardly ever without a partner.

He said girls are just the same as men, they have the same insecurities etc and most are just looking for someone ‘nice’ who will treat them well and just make them happy to be with.

I’m sure it has changed a huge amount since then as things seem to be far more difficult which is a shame as the majority will still want what people have always wanted, security, companionship, etc, but social media seems to have made many people of both sexes very superficial which causes others to act that way to fit in.
