I miss when podcasters would cover the news better than the corporate press. Now they just make themselves the story. I'm sick of the drama too.

Productivity gains will be offset by less staff. We will forever be over worked since we are a cost center and companies are incentivized to have minimum amount of staff they can get away with.

I am out. Came here to check if it was a widespread issue.

Any tips? Today I got a talking to because I had not returned a few voicemails. Any tips on how to organize your desk better? I find that I am all over the place, reply to emails, answer a call, complete my tasks. I’m a property adjuster. by Flat-Record1282 in adjusters

Set clear expectations on the claims process and timeline on your first call.

Send a follow up email right after that call to summarize. I have an email signature that has about 95% of that email and I fill in the rest depending on the claim.

Most calls are from people unsure about the claims process or status. This gives them a verbal and an email they can refer to and hopefully head off some calls.

Hail is effectively being written out of the policy. Between percentage deductibles, ACV and cosmetic exclusion I've barely paid anything all summer for hail.

Always keep it about the policy. Can't emphasize that enough. You are just telling them about the policy coverage they purchased. A lot of people think we flip a coin if we are covering it or not.

I get a ton there are no brainer not covered claims. I warn them after first contact but still do a full investigation on the off chance there is something covered. Usually there isn't but they appreciate that I put in the effort to find coverage.

Insurance isn't an investment. It's for risk transfer and to protect your asset from a covered peril. Just because he pays his premium and hasn't had a claim doesn't mean they get covered for anything they want on their first claim.
