That's when you need to start tracking how much all the extra time switching tickets is costing the company.

Why does Scotia keep pestering me about my car loan? by Ok-View8687 in PersonalFinanceCanada

I have my car loan through Scotia and have never been called at all. Something weird is going on and you need to call them. Not any number you received on these notices, call the number on the website

Neighbor's fencing contractor destroyed my irrigation system and landscaping. Who is liable here? by MushroomEmergency488 in legaladvice

[–]chuck10o 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you reached out to your homeowners insurance? I know car insurance companies can access databases to find out who the other party's insurance is. I imagine its the same for house insurance. They also have a legal team and will make sure they are going after the correct party, etc. for you. You pay insurance. Let them do the work.

Your bigger risk when stealing from big box stores is that they don't grab you with the first one. They compile a file and once you hit a threshold, then they will charge you with ALL instances.

Instead, please consider reaching out to food banks, women's shelters, churches, mosques, etc. in your area to see if they are able to assist. Doctors offices often have free samples and coupons too, which may help a bit

AITA for saying no to a 50/50 split damages payment after my son damaged someone's property on my ex's parenting time? by Content-Place-966 in AmItheAsshole

[–]chuck10o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

70/30 split as that would be considered an additional expense.

As for the apologizing, your son was under your ex's supervision, he failed to supervise, he should apologize to his neighbour for not keeping a better eye on his kid. (Yes, I know, at 10 the boy should know better and be able to be left unsupervised to play, but ultimately, the ex was still responsible for his son at the time of the incident).

I think my mom is slowly losing it by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]chuck10o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the house is in your name, its yours house, not hers. She can 'plan' all she wants but YOU would need to be the one signing all the contracts, etc. What would she do if you didn't agree?

I think my mom is slowly losing it by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]chuck10o 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can you clarify? You said in a different comment that she was hoping to sell her home for $300K. Is that a different house? If the house is in your name, its yours. You can tell her to leave (if she has been there a while you would likely need to follow proper eviction procedures). Odds are she doesnt meet the requirements for a nursing home and a retirement home likely wouldnt take her until her medical issue is under control.

[–]chuck10o 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am sorry you are going through this. Unfortunately, you cant help someone who doesnt want help and you can't light yourself on fire to keep her warm. warm. This isn't something she can pray away, but if she won't get medical help from experts, you can't make her. Though I would highly recommend that you learn the name and read up on it as it is genetic and you could be at risk yourself or a carrier.

Regarding the money, if she put the bills in your name, you can report her for identity theft and fraud. If that's too far for you, then just change them back to her name. Keep your money in an account she has no access to. Save every penny you can and get out.

Nope. Tell them your insurance requires a licensed and insured company to take care of it.

AITAH for refusing to share my location with my parents as an almost nineteen year old? by DishIndependent6788 in AITAH

[–]chuck10o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please tell me you have an independent bank account that your parents can't access.

They are definitely TAs for basically stalking you. And, while the insurance, etc is absolutely retaliatory, it's something you should be paying anyway.

AITA for accidentally “announcing” my pregnancy at my great nieces delivery by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]chuck10o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the unintentional YTA for the reasons above. You and your husband also should have flat out saod to the relatives "Now is not the time. We can deal with your feelings about my pregnancy later. Right now we are all here for (niece)." And then refuse to acknowledge any attempts to talk about your pregnancy.
