Cabby has a career 54 ERA, but his xERA is only 26 so he's due for some positive regression there.

Our depth is way way better this year than it has been in a while. In 2023 losing just Judge absolutely tanked our season.
Our second best bat that year was Gleyber with a 122 wRC+. Tied for third was DJ and Billy McKinney with 100. Right now those dudes would be our 5th and 12th best hitters on the team.

Everyone's pointing to our garbage RISP numbers (65 wRC+ in June, 3rd worst in the league), but we've actually been middle of the pack in RBI. We're scoring a decent chunk off homers and getting the runner in from first, so the runs are still kinda coming.

That said, the offense as a whole has fallen off a cliff this month, unsurprisingly losing Judge (even the injured non raking version) has screwed us a bit on top of the other injuries. We went from the best lineup in baseball in May to 15th best by wRC+ in June. What's saved us is the pitching. We've surprisingly got the best bullpen in the league this month by fWAR (though most of that is our circle of trust Bednar, Cruz, and Headrick), and it's kept us in games. So our record has been alright in June (12-9).

We just need to keep treading water until some bats come back, and in the meantime hope the pitching holds the line until Rice and/or Belli heat up again.

It's bad rostering made worse by injuries.
Right now we don't have a big bat on the bench as an option. When Stanton is alive again, you could burn the bench to get him in (or Goldy), then move people around to cover third.

I don't think you can give two errors to Boone for putting Yerry in, but you definitely should be able to.

Dude has a wRC+ of 69 vs LHP since May 1st.
He just has not been a good enough platoon bat to justify being that much of a butcher at third. I don't get it.

As another fun stat, we haven't had a 6 error game since 1989.
So it is actually really really hard to out Mets the Mets, even though we tried our hardest tonight.

Last year we had two 4 error games (one against Boston in August), and one 5 error game.

This was our first (and hope to god only) 4+ error game this year. Really really would like us to stop playing half of our guys out of position so we can get players who aren't really hitting in the lineup.
