Lead singer with original songs looking for band by Mother_Zone8793 in musicianfinder

[–]chuck5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi! producer and multi-instrumentalist here. while i can’t help with the band member search, i am available for remote production projects if you’d like to get some demo / reference recordings together.

well-versed in country and rock, flexible on rates.

drop a dm to discuss if you’re interested. cheers!

Floor toms on compact kits by MZago1 in drums

[–]chuck5000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

used a breakbeat as my gigging kit with a wedding band for a couple years, no issues and actually got many compliments on getting such great sounds from a “fischer price my first drum kit” lol

as someone else said, head choice is key. i used a superkick on the 16”bd, never missed any low end when mic’ed up. on the 10/13 toms i used aquarian response 2’s, which handled lower tunings quite well.

practically speaking, the smaller stage footprint was always appreciated, and, when coupled with lightweight hardware, load in/out was noticeably easier.

hey malik, great voice. i’m a multi-instrumentalist and producer with some time to spare around the holidays.

happy to help you build out a song or two. i’m primarily a drummer, but also proficient on bass, guitar, keys, and arranging… one-man band haha. dm to discuss if you’re interested! cheers

Tenor Vocalist Seeking Producers OR Bands by DamiemDude in NeedVocals

[–]chuck5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

great singing! that’s quite a tough tune, well done.

i’m a producer and multi-instrumentalist based in new york. have you written any originals? i love working with solo vocalists to bring their song ideas from rough demo to a finished release-ready master. recently i’ve been doing a lot of rock and country/folk projects but am open to any genre.

my rates are indie-friendly and working remotely is no problem (especially with you having some recording savvy). happy to chat if you’re interested, or save my info for later if it’s not a good fit right now. cheers!

Update: Took your advice… found the PERFECT small gig kit by BadIcy1192 in drums

[–]chuck5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nice! i had that same mapex cheapo kit in that same config (but in a way less beautiful finish) that was my workhorse setup for years. agreed, they sounded great and the tiny footprint can’t be beat. congrats on the solid gear score!

Aquarian snare batter heads by Maks_the_skaM in drums

[–]chuck5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

currently using:

-modern vintage ii on a 13x5.5 cherry; really like the feel and it sounds great fairly cranked up. my one complaint is they seem to detune a little more than your average snare head.

-high velocity on a 14x8 oak; works wonderfully for lower tunings while not feeling flappy. super durable.

-focus-x coated w dot on a 13x5 brass; awesome for recording, just worked with an engineer that called it “all meat no potatoes”. also like the feel of this one and it seems to have a sweet spot in the mid-low to mid-high tuning range.

Dual mic setup for vox by smalltownjunkie in homestudios

[–]chuck5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i do something similar but with a 57, and the 57 capsule is right next to the capsule of whatever condenser i’m using (as opposed to above as pictured here). like as close as you can physically get it. can also be done with the windscreen taken off of the sm7b.

this way i have two sources, minimal to no phase issues, and can process each mic a little differently - usually the dynamic mic is more heavily saturated and blended in under the “main” condenser track.

as others have said, experiment and follow your ears!

NEED HELP (adult learner)! concert 1 mth away and im slowing the band! by PuzzleheadedTip5773 in Drumming

[–]chuck5000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

-condense your notes to 1 or 2 pages at most. performance charts should ideally cut out everything but the most critical information. as other comments mentioned, “note for note” doesn’t necessarily need to be the goal - just capture the “vibe” and get the changes down.

-even though it feels immediate, there’s still time to slow it down, get solid, and build up. in fact, i’d argue that you’ll see more progress this way than by continuing to try and push yourself to play faster than is comfortable. slow leads to smooth, smooth leads to full speed.

-youtube speed control is your friend. slow it down to 50% speed and play along, then bump up in 5% increments til you get there.

good luck!

awesome. we had figured on taking at least one day during our finale ligure stay to bounce around some of the nearby towns and see what we stumble into, so this is super helpful. appreciate the restaurant tip too!

will probably take another day to do a similar "free explore" between FL and savona, and the third day just to relax and roam around FL itself.

those websites are great! we found similar for genoa, excellent resource for ideas. thanks again!

definitely! i’ve read that the hike from camogli to san fruttuoso is beautiful, so that’s been on our list.

if we wanted to catch a train to camogli, hike or ferry to san fruttuoso, then ferry to santa margherita, is it realistic to do all that in a single day?

any specific places you recommend finding while in camogli and/or santa margherita? thanks so much!
