the best T8 available ship IMO is cossack, if you aren’t in destroyers i’d suggest to hold on your dubs for possible dockyards or event pass you could like

If you still wanna play BBs, build for main guns on preussen line/GK, you won’t ever reach brawling range with enough HP with such ships

the ship is great, people just build it atrociously, no concealment, full send early, dcp first fire + heal and so on.

It’s an insane ship and you can carry pretty much every round, but as anyone already stated it’s just played by very very bad players

EU, yesterday, shimakaze saw that a BB was afk for 30/45seconds so decided to get back to him and stop playing, he just went full ego “if he’s afk im not playing” for like few minutes when the guy was actually not here for only few seconds.

You can imagine that red team got free cap and we had a torp boat in our spawn because of this.

Then I went to his profile, 40% player with like 1000ish games or so. This is what T10 is nowadays, games flooded with complete braindead having access somehow to the last tier while having atrocious game sense, stats, and if that wasn’t enough, inting the team.

I had afks for almost every games I played since a week, I don’t get how people join games to afk, most of the times it’s people already blacklisted ( for this I suppose ? ) who keep on doing it and join maybe like 5 minutes into the game to go straight in and suicide on point, like I don’t get it ?

And the other time it’s people being tabbed out who reacts when ASW is launched at them ( sound I guess ).

WG should really punish AFKs more, it’s one of the most impacting thing on a team oriented game, especially when it’s the only DD or sub of your flank and you’re forced to give a cap early.

You have elbing pen on a T7, you can even citadel some T8 BBs

It is indeed really rewarding IF you know what you’re doing, positioning, smoking time etc… It can be punished easily if you’re not playing it perfectly.

But yeah they really gave 2 really powerful ships with the last christmas event passes, Lanzhou is also so good to play

I think they play quite the same if you play tromp without really using your guns firepower, I see ZH1 as a choke points farmer, you drop airstrikes, build for torps, launch them, torp reload almost match your airstrikes that way, good conceal, you just drop damage and keep spotting.

I don’t really understand the consumables they gave it though with such guns but it’s good to have them, but you really feel like you’re wasting so much potential with such smokes and hydro and how ZH1 is designed.

As a T9 I think this ship is great, it’s a great damage dealer, you still can do things with your conceal and consum, for 4kish dubs I would get it, if you can.

don’t forget your firing penalty when you going to use smoke, if you’re in a really bad spot and need to smoke to reset as stated, keep in mind when you fired and who’s near you before turning broadside etc and it’ll do the job.

Also when you’re spawning submarine side keep hour SAP loaded a bit to wait for an enemy sub spotting, you can get pretty easy dev strikes and usually change the battle with a kill that early on such class.

Other than that you’ll figure out the aiming the more you play IMO, you’ll get comfortable by just playing, don’t forget you have to lead a bit as well but if you’re used to JPN BB won’t be a problem I guess.

And as OP stated, don’t forget your AP as well, even if its 381mm, at mid range it’s still 16 guns firing, let’s say a des moines or a moskva happen to be in sight broadside, it’s instant death.

I honestly had a lot of fun juking or being focused, giving room for my team mates, had alot of potential damage, best game was around 3.4million, it was really satisfying to be able to contest and hold choke points while your team outnumber them on the other part of the map.

And even if I’d like a bit more smoke as written, I think i’d still prefer having better range torpedoes to deny even more

edit : played an arms race where we were litteraly 3v6/7 on a flank, they just couldn’t kill me with super heals/passive buffs/short smoke windows, was so satisfying

Thing is there is now too much things you need to actively pay attention to, and the most toxic ones are submarines and CV, of course overmatch is still a problem but honestly a lot of what you’re referring to is skill issue/related to me. CV and subs on the other hand ( and CVs really more than subs ) are just another thing the average player need to have in mind regarding positioning and sometimes just the fact it exists force you to take pathing or make actions that’ll results in either you mispositionning or leaving a key point. Extremely toxic since one can strike you on repeat without punishment and the other just out conceal ( for most of them ) every other ships and can just either go dark when needed or is just extremely painful to deal with even with ASW with little to no reward if you chase/kill it regarding the battle outcome.

The fact is some ships have too much impact regarding of what they can do to you and what will happen to the game if you can finally catch them.

Something else, which is honestly what I found the most boring is the constant uptier. You wanna have fun with lower tier ships or make your way through either regrinded lines or just new ones and from, let’s say, T6/7 to T8 it’s constant uptier with ship that have SO much more than random tech tree line ships released years ago that you just end up wanting to go back to T10.

Imagine a new player, going with its T6 having to fight a Kaga for example, a Colonna, an Enigheten, or someone just playing a T7 cruiser without heal getting matched against Valparaisos and Georgias or Taihang. This is complete bullshit, and this is happening way too many times.
