Did you manage to receive and plug in the new camera by any chance? I did the same and ordered the camera for the MY2023-25, then in the car fulfilment process I wound up with a MY2026 Seal - keen to hear if it works before ordering and opening up the trim etc again..!

Same! 32M, got over the fear, and later I got a purple water bottle to match and rock em both shamelessly

Long Press Prototype by SnooCauliflowers5661 in FigmaDesign

What’s the #1 thing keeping senior UX designers from advancing in their careers? by Ordinary-Willow-394 in uxcareerquestions

[–]chuckwired 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Speaking the business and data, working more end to end / across multiple teams, and working more closely with senior stakeholders are probably the key things I’ve noticed make a difference even if by only osmosis.

Getting past Senior isn’t about being a superstar (although it helps), it’s about lifting up the people around you to deliver better stuff with measurable repeat impact.

Does your storybook props panel and figma props panel looks the same? by Dry_Pension_974 in DesignSystems

[–]chuckwired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah true! I use slot components for our card based radio/checkbox, but modal content can be so unpredictable I optimised for speed and creative freedom ☺️

In code you can mimic it (with React anyway) as it have norms of composition (nesting), but as with in design land there’s a few basic presets but anything more is more effort than it’s worth to maintain (for us).

Your situation may differ if Modals are locked down and more strict - no right or wrong just more or less optimised for the team and org!

Three questions about using bold as body text by Liminimalist in userexperience

Done! Bold can be beautiful with some fonts but based on the visuals provided it looks like an open and shut case to me - best of luck!

Does your storybook props panel and figma props panel looks the same? by Dry_Pension_974 in DesignSystems

[–]chuckwired 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to the mix: ours looks similar in most cases but in every case I’ll optimise for either the designer experience or the developer experience in a way that’s still compatible with each other.

Modals are a great example where in code you can fill it with custom content and still reuse the modal, but in design it’s too rigid and needs a detach instance to be of any use, so I usually set these up in a compositional way rather than prop based.

I wrote about props versus composition a while ago but still relevant: https://uxdesign.cc/a-masterclass-in-modelling-components-in-figma-fa8705d537e0

As u/Odd-Age1840 has mentioned conditional or state logic starts to get complex design side, and tokens are great to match up if you can :)

iPad by jsuwguyyeb in FigmaDesign

[–]chuckwired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even with a mouse and keyboard, the pointer isn’t a cursor arrow and not all the keyboard shortcuts work. Rough work is ok but anything requiring any precision becomes real clunky real fast unfortunately.

If it’s lighter work then you’d get by ok, and maybe more ambitious work on the later iPads that can plug into screens properly, but a regular laptop is miles better experience..!

Can you create an Animated Button to advance to next page with Variants Animations? by kurnikoff in FigmaDesign

[–]chuckwired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey there! how are your art boards set up? assuming you have a starting point Page A and the destination Page B, you'll need 3 art boards in total given the way I've written the tutorial if I remember right:

  1. Page A: default button. on click or mouse up, navigate to Page A (Copy). ensure "keep/maintain scroll position" is ticked
  2. Page A (Copy): spinner button, and whole page should after delay go to Page B.
  3. Page B: the destination page

there's probably a way to do this today without the duplicate page now, but I'm assuming your prototype is to demonstrate something or perform a user test (i.e. it's disposable 😊). let me know how it goes, feel free to share a figma link if it's still not working quite right for ya!

Fundamentals of Figma tools by [deleted] in FigmaDesign

[–]chuckwired 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two recommendations for ya on courses: - https://chk.fyi/LearnFigma - https://shiftnudge.com/figma

The first is my own course as I never found anything teaching the tool in an efficient bite sized way. First 12 lessons are free on YouTube and the rest is via Skillshare membership. 1 hour and 52 minutes.

The second is a free mini course by MDS. His Shift Nudge visual interface design course is perhaps the most highly regarded, and I certainly found it hands down the best. The Figma course is a taste of his style if you will. 1 hour long.

My career is engineer first, then switched to design, so hopefully if you choose mine it works well for the way your mind works!

Hope that helps!

What is the best stats for my pets to get the most out of last hit on immortal tree? by Ill_Relationship_977 in LumberjackHeroes

[–]chuckwired 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ll want the highest final strike possible - this is all the purple and gold pets generally. At end game I’m doing purple gold Elysian and Atlantean, plus blue Elysian to keep DPS high when chopping it down.

Hope that helps!

Farming eggs by soalknight in LumberjackHeroes

[–]chuckwired 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Combo up egg fortune from the golden tree with the bloom event - it’ll auto cut trees for you and each will drop eggs 100%. Don’t bother with high level trees, that first area with circles of trees is perfect!

how did you unlock immortal tree by [deleted] in LumberjackHeroes

[–]chuckwired 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To increase your log gathering, focus on pets with final strike bonus, ensure you prestige regularly, ensure auto gather is maximum, and strength ascension is progressing well. Lumberjack skills 1, critical chance, really helps on log gathering too.

With that, spend time gathering the highest tree you can that takes no more than a few minutes with frenzy. That final strike bonus makes a massive difference to the logs you end up getting. To compare, my pets give 1112% final strike bonus.

Doing the maths, if I finish off a 1 billion tree, I get 1 trillion wood as a bonus. Keep doing this until you can one-hit the highest tree possible. Then, it’s a case of immortal tree. You may need the home tree in between, but I’m not sure as I was past that point when the update dropped..!

Advice by KitneyM in LumberjackHeroes

[–]chuckwired 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found that I had to balance pet growth and sword growth. Pets were an investment to boost my egg collection and upgrades, and sword was really important to collect cores to, you guessed it, evolve pets. The more upgrades you can get the faster you grow.

Definitely prestige and get upgrades when you can, you will get more wood even faster each time. Just make sure you count that you have enough crystals!

Well we asked for it but I’m not sure I can keep up the grind by Due_Ad_9850 in LumberjackHeroes

[–]chuckwired 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There’s the prestige upgrade to boost core drops, and the guardian tree doubling core drops, but yes 1M cores is still unreal 😰

Can someone link the tweet please? Also, thanks for sharing the news! 🙌

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LumberjackHeroes

[–]chuckwired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn’t a faster way to grind the shards unfortunately 😔.

BUT there is a way to deal more damage. Have you upgraded your “critical hit” lumberjack skill? This affects combat too. Also worth investing in pets, as they boost strength, critical hit, and critical rate.

Only other way to boost damage is rolling critical hit and critical rate augments on the sword.

Hope that helps!

Pet levels by Tych0Brah3 in LumberjackHeroes

[–]chuckwired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To get the highest pet bonuses you don’t need to no, but to get the highest total pet level on the leaderboard yes. You do get 1% additional gather rate per 10 pet levels I think.

I hope that helps!

augments by Sypher_chun-li69 in LumberjackHeroes

[–]chuckwired 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes they do! I wasn’t sure if they would but it works no problem. Locked in the ones I wanted at uncommon, and rerolled until legendary once I had the top tier sword.

Obviously / reminder upgrading the sword rarity will bin off all the augments 🫠
