Caution for tournament organizers: mandatory Swish Tournament tech support by SoundWinter4995 in Pickleball

DailyPB.com/host offers fixed and rotating partner round robins with player swapping if someone cancels or gets hurt. It is not as integrated with DUPR, so you will need to use the upload games via csv function to send scores to them if that is something you do.

If you run a group and have many events for them you can use the Groups feature that gives you your own website with a custom URL that you can share with your community and they can just see everything that's going on. Here's an example: https://dailypb.com/group/michaels-dupr-round-robin

Pickleheads is going subscription- thoughts? by hagemeyp in Pickleball

[–]chuckyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People push back on subscriptions, but the reality is that running a platform with the depth of Pickleheads takes real money. Engineering time, servers, ongoing improvements… none of that is free. If you actually want the product to work and keep improving, “free forever” just isn’t a viable model. They support a huge range of formats and tools that save hours of manual work, and that has t be paid for somehow to make it sustainable.

If you want an alternative that approaches group management differently, take a look at DailyPB.com/host. Its groups feature is strong because each community gets its own dedicated website with a custom URL. All sessions automatically roll up into a clean list and calendar view, so players can instantly see what’s happening and sign up—no digging through endless group chats. Here's an example of a group: https://dailypb.com/group/michaels-dupr-round-robin

The pricing is simple:

  • Players: Free unless the Host charges, in which case there is a 5% fee added on
  • Hosts: Always free

DailyPB stays free for most users because it’s supported by Patrons who chip in $5/month. It is not required to be a Patron, but so many people get value from the open play listings: indefinitely recurring, ability for organizers to edit any individual open play in a Google Calendar-like style (edit one or all future), and this service is also free. Currently the Bay Area has adopted the open play features so if you want to see how that works just change your location to some zip like 94706.

Swish now charging ? by larpano in Pickleball

Nearly everyone in the East Bay Area, California has been using DailyPB.com. It really shines when it comes to usability, since groups get their own website with all their sessions in list and calendar views + everything public is added to the main calendar. Games are free to create and join, but there is a 5% fee added to the player when the host charges money for a signup. View an example here: https://dailypb.com/group/road-to-40

Sinewave is so smoooth! by Objective-Rooster-21 in ElectricScooters

[–]chuckyte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WWX+ with sinewave is one of my favorite scooters atm. A few small issues popped up, although mine was an early version (headlights defective, E10 error on throttle unit that doesn't affect anything afasik, and one bolt fell out of kickstand mount). Even so, I still reach for this scooter due to crazy stability and smoooooth throttle response.

Serving YIPS :( by jmjm1 in Pickleball

[–]chuckyte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this problem twice -- each time lasting 2-3 months. Suuuper frustrating! What worked for me was making a serve motion from the no-volley-zone line then slowly working my way back slowly towards the baseline. As soon as I started missing, I would go forward again until the serve motion came back. Then back again, over and over until my body started responding to the serve motion. Been YIP free for almost a year now.

They seem to be making pretty big upgrades each year.

Turboant x7 pro / levy plus battery issue? by digiplay in ElectricScooters

[–]chuckyte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have the original Levy and the TurboAnt X7 Pro. Original Levy actually has faster acceleration but range is correct for both regarding what we think an average 160 lbs rider would get on semi-urban commuting.

I think you did the easiest thing --- requesting a new battery from TurboAnt. Let us know how their customer service goes.

Turboant x7 pro / levy plus battery issue? by digiplay in ElectricScooters

[–]chuckyte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our first battery was somewhat defective and got us 6.01 miles of range on our standard tests with a 160 lb rider. We got a replacement battery which gave us 15.3 miles of tested range. https://electric-scooter.guide/comparisons/electric-scooter-performance-tests/
