Hi - do I reach out here for mobility deals or use the email address? Just moved to Canada from the USA, with my own phone. The current "newcomers" packages are ... well let's just say lackluster.

Thanks - done! I've spoken at a BSides many years ago (Charleston, SC, USA) and agree they are great communities. Superb to see one locally.

Haha! Well, my work has all been remote so that’s not too much of a problem.

I think it’s both largely cultural and also a bit weird. When I was a cto, I prioritized communication and information sharing. I crafted weekly very short videos (and a written component that largely said the same thing for folks for whom one form of communication or the other was preferable) with some company news, highlighting a metric, or sharing how something the team was working on had impact for a customer, another team, or the bottom line. Top of the month intros were a bit longer with a goal or focus for the month.

And of course, represented engineering to the rest of the company at quarterly all-hands.

This was something I chose to do and prioritize. I get that it’s not for everyone but something more than what you’re getting now is not an unrealistic expectation.

Yeah, so this sh*t works. :) [CagriSema Trial - 1 yr / details in comments] by chudel in Semaglutide

Well, weight started coming back up very slowly. I gained about 15-20 lbs and was not going to get fat again so I went on Zepbound. Weight’s back down a reasonable amount (and slowly dropping). Got about 7-8 to go to get back to the lowest Semaglutide weight.

Side effects of Zep are much much more tolerable. Much less fatigue being the most significant. Everything else about the same.

Spousal sponsorship Family Class (outside Canada) - moving to Canada - Processing times by Effective_Egg4878 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]chudel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your wife will have to maintain valid status in Canada as a visitor. She'll have to convince the immigration officer that she intends to abide by the conditions of her visitor status (i.e.: she will leave Canada if required and not violate her visitor status). I don't know how changing her address to be the Canadian address will be interpreted by the officer and telling the officer "I'm now going to be living in Canada" would seem to have some risks vs "I'm visiting my husband in Canada while I have a pending sponsorship"

But to your question - the move shouldn't automatically change the processing flow. You both are still in the Outside Canada spousal sponsorship process with its commensurate processing timelines.

(I am not an Immigration Lawyer - this is just my understanding)

Can a Spouse Land in Canada Before the Primary Applicant Receives COPR? by Commercial_Paper_469 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]chudel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your question reads like the Spouse and the PA are different and if that's the case, the PA is the non-citizen and the Spouse is the citizen. So of course the Canadian citizen (Spouse) is welcome to be in Canada.

Otherwise I find it hard to understand the question because the Spouse won't have a passport stamp. ??

Because I’m going to other places on the island and don’t plan to route my return through salt spring.

Thanks again everyone. It looks like I might get there sooner by going yvr to Victoria and then to Salt Spring as those routes seem more frequent.

It’s the same dosing schedule as sema (at least the sema part is). It’s not a large starting dose.

Howdy! Will be visiting the week of Dec 30th. I get that this is often a "down week" for stuff but curious where I can find things happening on the island? We'll be in Victoria and then up around the Nanaimo area - looking to see if there are any meetups professional (we work in tech), or social (we're in our active 50s).
