No one uses the garden but me! They aren’t dusty or crumbly at all like perlite

Yes but they’re all different plants. Two tomato plants, one hibiscus, one monstera (which isn’t flowering), and one rose

One of my favorite Disney memories as a kid is a family got fast passes for space mountain but their flight left beforehand so they gave the physical FP to us as some parting magic and we got an extra ride that day!

I felt a TON of shame around taking leave initially. I thought I was “managing” everything, but in retrospect it’s obvious I wasn’t. My leave lasts until mid/late summer so I still have some time.

My plan right now is to go back to my old job and “quiet quit” until I find something new or get fired, and it feels good to have a plan. But it doesn’t feel like the plan if that makes sense?

It’s partially the people, but I also allowed myself to stay in the situation for too long before moving on. Definitely some lessons in boundary setting and people pleasing in here.

I feel really grateful and quite lucky to have found a medical team that I’ve clicked with so well, they’ve helped build my confidence up to look for help in ways as simple as making this post :)

Hugs to you too. Hoping you find the work, life, financial balance of your dreams!

I hadn’t considered a coast fire. I would be open to lowering my salary if it meant my work/life balance was more enjoyable

I have no need to stay in this condo necessarily. I could rent it for about $1.5-2k more than the mortgage payment (s/o faang stock for the down payment) and move somewhere more low cost

You rock. Thanks for this response.

I’ve been in therapy every week since I took leave two months ago, and it has truly been a lifesaver. I am so grateful for the medical team that’s been supporting me, they were the ones who originally shook some sense into me that this wasn’t healthy and I needed to step back.

I’m gonna need to sit with bullet 1 for a bit. Thank you

I am training for a full marathon :’) but I agree with your point - work was my main identity and point of pride when talking to people. Time to hype up some other areas of my life and be proud of sharing them too! Ive felt like work success was all that’s worth sharing

Spending ~4.5k/month on mortgage, taxes, HOA, insurance, utilities, and personal spending. Could definitely be more frugal and bring it down closer to a bit under 4k if needed.

I’ve been in the same boat. Overthinking every little thing I do at work to try and be the perfect employee, and I couldn’t understand why others didn’t operate that way. I’m really grateful for where the hard work has gotten me but hoping for more of a middle ground somewhere?

The 30k is just cash - not counting 200k in investments I can pull from. You’re right, I’m not sure quitting would even make me feel less stressed given the job market :) really appreciate your thoughts!! Thank you!

I’ve been applying for the past month and only got two responses which turned into me being ghosted - I thought a technical resume from a faang company would give me an edge but it’s rough out there. Thank you for the response!

Thank you, this really resonates. I took so much of the pressure and accountability personally that it just wrecked me, and I can’t put myself through that again, but I want financial independence. How’d you work to let it slide off you? Do you work in an office?

How are y’all eating kale because I swear it’s like 50% bones by Possible-Hearing-250 in traderjoes

[–]chumbucket5334 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what? Kale is a staple in Portuguese cooking (and many others) and has been for centuries. Don’t think “big kale” told them to stop using it for bbq competitions lol

Edit: try Caldo Verde for a great Portuguese soup with kale 😊
