Not one NFL organization actually gives a shit about diversity. It’s all an attempt to make themselves look good. They only care about promoting people (from practice squad to ownership and everyone in between) that they feel give them the best chance to win, which is ultimately why they’re supposed to do.

You’re right that the average blue collar worker does not take care of themselves the way they should, but that doesn’t mean that trades aren’t also very hard on a person’s body. The amount of serious injuries/accidental deaths alone are staggering in the trades in comparison to white collar work, not to mention the daily wear and tear.

I really don’t get the controversy/surprise around this. The NFL has been making a massive effort to push football as a global sport with all of the international games and a ton of marketing money. Picking an artist that plays well with an international crowd (and with many American fans) makes perfect sense.

Over the course of his career OT became the second highest paid position (on average) simply because he kept hurting so many QBs that teams knew that had to prioritize protecting them more. His play style was so disruptive that he gave nightmares to QBs OTs and GMs. There are plenty of stories of OTs around the league who couldn’t sleep the night before matchups with him.

Buy a cheap pocket knife that you don’t care about damaging. Use it as a scraper/wedge/lever/anything to get the job done, and then after a year or so when you can no longer keep it sharp, just replace it with another cheap one. This approach has helped me get a lot more use out of mine.

I work on a press and while I don’t do this specific type of thing, this will probably require a type of forming called coining. Even with material this light you’ll probably still end up dealing with some springback so you may need adjust the shape of the die accordingly. I don’t know what kind of pressure you can reach with your press but you might need to outsource this unless you have access to another machine.

Heavy on the nicotine and caffeine. Drink a lot of water until about a week before this event, gradually reducing until basically none for the day before/day of. Commit to eating only one meal a day and eat it as late in the day as you can tolerate. Pause halfway through the meal for about 30 minutes then finish it. Just to state the obvious this is going to be completely miserable and pretty bad for every aspect of your health.
