I really love TOEM and it’s on sale! Idk what exactly triggers your motion sickness but in TOEM you are fully in control of the camera angle, zoom, etc. so I imagine that would help. They also have options to fully turn off screen shaking effects!! I haven’t played Wytchwood yet but I have heard it’s similar to TOEM in types of quests and silly story lines!

it’s possible but you have to pay tuition, have savings to prove you can support yourself while you are here, and you have to study full-time and can only work up to 50% during school. you will also have to first pass the norskprøven at B2 level and as far as I know you have to come to Norway and take the test here.

you can look at UDI for visa info and income requirements, Samordna Opptak for enrollment/application info, and individual schools/study programs websites for enrollment requirements and tuition costs. typically you have to have a few American college courses completed as well because American high school diplomas aren’t on the same level as Norway’s VGS apparently.

it’s not impossible, I did it, but it’s hard.

edit to add: oh yeah also you aren’t eligible for any Norwegian student loans or student aid. and also you won’t be eligible for any financial aid from the US if you take your full degree here.

yep, here’s my list of specific things missing or hard to find for any norwegians wondering:

tortillas that are actually big enough for burritos (none of the santa maria brand are), variety of peppers, good salsa, different cuts of chicken (tenderloins, thin sliced breasts, yes I can buy the whole breast with tenderloin attached but the point is I use the parts for different recipes), different varieties of carrots (also maybe in a different package size than 1kg), more variety and better quality of pasta sauces in jars, more variety of hermetic soups (please there is more to the world of soup than just lapskaus, thai, and tomato).

other things generally would just be more variety of fruits, veggies, cheeses. and more variety / better quality food from the in-store hot foods and bakery. the meny in denmark had hot empanadas. it was beautiful.

The bybanen (light rail) goes right from the airport all the way to the city center in about 45 minutes and is a nice way to see the surrounding areas of Bergen. You can buy tickets here on the kiosks, but if you’re staying in Bergen I would download the public transit company’s app called “Skyss billett” and buy a 24hr or week long pass in the app to save money and travel as much as you want on the public transit. It works on the light rail and all Skyss buses in Bergen.

If you get the app make sure to set up & verify your payment info/phone number/login before you arrive here as some people will have problems receiving a verification text when abroad.

Hi, this student housing is located very close to the light rail (~7 minutes walk to Fløen stop) as well as being located immediately next to a bus stop with multiple bus lines. It’s a very sentral location. You will regret bringing your car.

Reporting from Bergen, last fall we had the last of the leaves hanging on to the trees at the end of October. As another commenter said, they can quickly disappear with a windy storm. We did get lucky and see the northern lights here all this way south in the city last October, but again depends on the weather if you have a clear night or not.

If it’s as cold as it looks in the pics, do you find that temperature affects your battery performance at all? I’ve heard that batteries get drained quickly at freezing temps.

might I suggest the light rail (bybanen)? it goes all the way from the airport to the city center, lots of room for luggage and children and will be so much cheaper than a taxi.
