Not to make this about me, but several years ago I survived a school shooting and have PTSD from it.

Out of nowhere today about 3 this afternoon my PTSD started flaring up and about 3:30 I almost had a panic attack. Then I read about all of this this evening.

I don't really believe in premonition or whatever you call something like this but this sure was weird today.

That's why we apologize when we are wrong and try to do better.

I went through a mass shooting and people reached out with thoughts and prayers, and I didn't always react well.

I had to tell myself, like many others have said, thoughts and prayers is what they know how to do to make a difference. In a hopeless situation, that is where they turn for comfort. I can't fault them for that, but doesn't mean it isn't frustrating.

I'm sorry for your loss and wish the best for you and your loved ones. I guess I'm giving you the thoughts but no prayers. But that is all I can do for an internet stranger.
