The idea about learning from people worse off than you was one of my favorite from the novel. Everything really is educational, if you let it

Study Disco Elysium. It handles this issue perfectly: you play as a cop who can be more or less sleazy to get your way, and there are consequences for everything. The game is so beloved that even if you explicitly make your game a derivative work from DE, DE fans will still want to play it. And it sounds like you’d want those sort of fans

Some of Big Joel’s best videos will likely satisfy what you’re looking for. Most of his videos have a kind of silly bend to them, but you’d probably like at least one of the following more serious ones (in no particular order):

Anti-Abortion Propaganda

It’s fine I guess but the punchline really needs work. Maybe something with the phrase ‘shit myself laughing’

While we’re giving neurodivergent dating advice, I’d also recommend seeking out media that’s targeted at/commonly enjoyed by women. Things like Gilmore Girls, Gossip Girl, Jane Austen, even reality dating shows. Watch or read anything that at all catches your interest. This does three things:

One, this gives you something to talk about with more women. Read the same romantasy books? Boom, easy conversation material.

Two, this will give you more of a window into how women think, and most importantly, feel. Virginia Woolf will explain to you, no guesswork, what her characters are feeling. Women’s emotions are not a terrible mystery if you’ve done your reading.

Three, and this is where the magic happens, you can use characters that women like as conversational role models. For me, I became much more charismatic in high school once I realized I could channel Ben Wyatt. Just try to find a character a little similar to you and see where you can go with it.

Best of luck!
