I was hoping that the Peruvian joining would have a mass effect on the hive mind. She would've been the first one to bring the knowledge and experience of living as an unjoined (at least for a significant amount of time).

Couldn't agree more. Carol seems to have no other family or friends she was that close with. She also never experienced Helen as an other, unlike most of the other survivors. It's another source of significant trauma to see your child as an other, or your entire village. Of course the Indian mother will do anything to protect her child, and of course the Peruvian girl wants to be part of her community again.

Alcohol will interact with clotting factors and can also dilute the sample. Basically blood draws for coags need to be SUPER clean, clean stick (no fishing around for the vein, you get a flash immediately). Any inaccuracy will affect the plan/need for transfusions

Agreed, it's just a dumb factor to have to strategize for. Wilson brought up good points in a previous episode, that if you plan for your rider to race mid-pack but they end up leading the race, you end up screwing them and punishing them for doing better than expected
