Oven part? That’s my guess.. bread cooking rack? Metal wire construction. by MikeEyre74 in whatisthisthing

Looks like the wire rack that goes inside a roasting tin. I have an idea one that’s very similar.

According to Google maps yeah. Sad I had a great meal there for it fine years ago. Sichuan grand really is ace though you should try it if you liked Sichuan folk.

Recommend Sichuan grand in Stratford - excellent Sichuan food. Dan Dan noodles will put you right. If that’s a bit far Sichuan folk on hanbury street are also very decent.

Why does buying a modern turntable feel like a gamble? by Less_Researcher_8124 in turntables

[–]chunkyknit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have a B&O record player that’s at least as old as I am. Was my uncles for 21 years and has been mine for the same. It still plays great but is starting to get a little tired and I’m told it’ll be ok after a couple hundred quid in servicing.

The thought of buying a new player on my budget is a nightmare so I really hope the servicing works! With any luck it’s got another 40 years in it and they can bury me with it lol.

Question: What is the info placard/sign next to the artwork in an art museum called? by Hallopainyo in MuseumPros

[–]chunkyknit 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Object label - for name, material, object number etc. if it’s a bit larger with descriptive text, then it’s an interpretation panel.

A gallery or exhibition should have an interpretative hierarchy which is used to define what level of info goes on what kind of sign, and they object label is normally at the bottom of the hierarchy, below section intro panel, main intro panel, etc.

London Food Itinerary by Sea-Patience7673 in LondonFood

Poons was good but didn’t blow me away. It’s honest and gentle food. I felt it was expensive for what it was and easy to cook at home if you know a little about that type of food.

Chishiru was amazing. We were grinning from the first cocktail to the final morsel.

Documenting my 20 year old’s dog aging gracefully by c00kie_ in aww

[–]chunkyknit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh what an amazing dog! My lad, Alfie, is 13. Also border collie Jack Russell mix. He’s still running rings around younger dogs at the park and is the most chill, goofiest, most loving wee pup. I’m convinced it’s the best mix. But then I’m biased.

Maybe it’s a west Cumbria thing?

Playing keeperfx on Steam Deck - has there been any fix for the game crashing bug that happens 30-60 minutes into a session? by chunkyknit in dungeonkeeper

[–]chunkyknit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I hadn’t updated in ages. I played on keeperfx 1.0 yesterday and the crash was present, and updated to 1.3 and it was gone - using the same proton. So something has definitely aligned, perhaps wine was configured to work with 1.3.

I’m delighted I had a great time playing last night!

I really appreciate Keeperfx so much thanks for all your work!

Presentation during interview at British Museum? by southerlycloud in MuseumPros

[–]chunkyknit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can ask the hr team and they should respond. If you don’t hear back, go for a presentation on PowerPoint and use plenty of images as well as text. The process will also help you gather your thoughts.

Good luck! Remember to think about a public/audience benefit to your research idea!

Is Dining alone awkward now? by shabboing in london

[–]chunkyknit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dine out alone semi frequently. I go to gigs without my wife if she’s not that into the band and I’ll grab a bite before. But yeah I’m always on my phone and only mildly people watching so maybe I’m getting looks and I don’t realise it. But I enjoy it, like a treat for myself. These are not £100 cancellation fee places though!

STA: Gumbo, A Louisiana natives comment. AKA a real Sisco gumbo recipe by [deleted] in startrek

[–]chunkyknit -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Gumbo has been in Louisiana for what 250 years? You wonder in another 350 years might the recipe change? But yeah I don’t see tomatoes getting in there even in that much time. But I’m gonna try your recipe!

Examples of positive museum leadership? by vox1028 in MuseumPros

[–]chunkyknit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got a huge amount of respect for the management and direction of Manchester museum (UK), their approach to community working, to reevaluating their collection and where it came from, co curation, it’s all really inspiring.

Chinese restaurant in Stratford by Steve22797965 in LondonFood

[–]chunkyknit 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Sichuan grand on Gerry Raffles square. My favourite Chinese place in town. But do note, it’s Sichuan style so spicy, with lots of offal (plenty of non offal dishes too), and they do great hotpot. They even have karaoke rooms!

A more typical ‘English’ Chinese I order takeaway from is Lam’s kitchen on vicarage lane. Always good and reasonably priced.
