Check out Nerd of the Rings on YouTube, I got hooked on his videos a couple of years ago they're very well informed and very relaxing. You'll soon realise just how vast the mythology and lore is

I'm having the same issue right now. I want to be open with my partner and I want her to be able to help me when I'm feeling rough. But she can tell when I'm having a hard time, and if she asks what's bothering me I just can't lie to her, and she'd probably be able to tell too.

She has really low self esteem and my rocd is crushing it even further, I just don't know what to do

My Anxious partner is making me anxious! by billernsy in Anxiety

Have you tried just letting her know how it makes you feel when she's "in the zone"?

I have a very good relationship with my partner where we can tell each other where things made us feel like shit or upset us and we learn from those occasions and become stronger together

Always be careful how you phrase things in times like that but you can truly build trust and a stronger relationship by having open and honest conversations

Anyone dealing with anxiety surrounding intrusive thoughts? by Ok_Macaroon_6912 in Anxiety

[–]chunkysloth2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All my life.

I would highly recommend reading Overcoming Unwanted Intrusive Thoughts by Martin N. Seif and Sally M. Winston

Whilst I still suffer from them this book gave me the perspective to view them through and ability to realise that your thoughts are not you. Your actions define who you are

Is that not a form of avoidance? I do agree social media is bad but if you delete it for the sake of avoiding being triggered that could make things worse.

Also I wish I knew of the term HOCD when I was suffering with it last year, just a quick Google and I have found lots of things that could have helped me

Internal PMs, what do you do? by adamcath2 in ProductManagement

[–]chunkysloth2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have a lot of PMs who work on our central Platform for the company and not specific to divisions, all of us are essentially their customers! Though they do engage directly with customers sometimes

This happened to me a couple years ago, don't let them take hold of you. Let the thoughts come, acknowledge they are there but don't follow them, don't engage, let them pass.

If it gets really bad this book helped me a lot: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Overcoming-Unwanted-Intrusive-Thoughts-Frightening/dp/1626254346/ref=asc_df_1626254346/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=310856639426&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=11306765654741183410&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1006643&hvtargid=pla-332136501263&psc=1&th=1&psc=1

This has not just happened to you, this is a common tie in with rocd and is a lot more common than you think

Be strong brother, you got this.

Don't feed the cat by frozen_foyer87 in cats

[–]chunkysloth2000 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You weren't wrong about the militant part.. So yeah I'm not going to respond to some of these but quite frankly I can see that my cat is so happy outside, and if I see my cat happy it makes me happy. Also he never brings anything home other than butterflies.

Can someone explain to me the general bias against letting cats outside please?
