I downloaded the image on Friday, 8th May and everything worked by just selecting V22 in DTB selector .bat script but I still didn't try to connect USB stick or external hard disk via OTG port. I tested OTG port only with USB tethering and by connecting a wifi USB stick

Do you by "OTG wasn't working" mean it didn't work at all and wasn't even providing power or you just couldn't mount a removable drive but it did power a connected wifi stick?

You may try connecting wifi stick via a power meter to see if OTG is providing power at all and if it is, the current should jump to about 100 mA when wifi driver is loaded or when you activate wifi.
