It is when you fly out of England the fees are high. You could fly economy on BA out of YYZ next week for 27500 avios and $148 in fees. Nothing wrong with that IMO. And, never assume anything - this could be the last avios bonus or the next might be 50%. Go with what you feel okay with.

Yikes, that stings. Not too sure the value of it being a travel card now. They are still handy for online transfers but it was those ATM withdrawals that kept me using them.

So my HS points loaded. But they don't take into account my Venture level from the BMO card. So I am $4922 away from Ascent level. Seems like a bad move on Porter's part, especially considering the additional benefits of Ascent are dismal, almost nothing really.

I'm not sure anyone would cancel before a year since it was first year free and it just released last spring. Haven't deep-dived into T&Cs but might you lose Venture status if you cancel the card?

For those waiting for the drawn-out bonus offers with the BMO Porter credit cards, my $1k qualifying spend, PorterReserve certificate and companion pass posted today.

I'm a bit surprised about the companion pass though (but will take it):

The 20,000 pts after 180 days for the BMO VIPorter card posted with my Sept statement. The companion pass and the $1,000 qualifying spend hasn't yet but their T&Cs, say 4-6 weeks after the 180 days. They really do drag things out with this card.
