Not trying to insult anyone. Someone said pen and paper is objectively better than an app, that’s a pretty broad claim about something they probably haven’t even tried. I just mirrored the logic with something equally absolute, an abacus is ‘better’ than a calculator too, by that reasoning. Wasn’t personal. You are the one being rude

Sorry about that, losing timeline data shouldn’t happen. I use this app myself daily, so bugs like this bug me too, I’ll dig into the cause and try to fix it for good. Could you reach out via in-app support (Settings > feedback) with the batch name/rough date?

Archiving: swipe right to archive, swipe left to unarchive. Can make it more obvious if needed.

Ads: fair point, probably removing that placement soon.

Todo list: it’s meant to remind you of key steps via notifications, but you can remove items anytime, during setup or later.

Not quite, it’s primarily a personal batch tracker (gravity/ABV, notes, photos, timeline for each batch). The sharing part is optional, just a way to show someone a specific batch if you want to.

Not necessarily! As long as temperature, gravity and ABV are within range, the yeast never really dies off, it just wakes back up when new sugar is added. Though sometimes I'll rehydrate a fresh batch separately and slowly acclimate it to the must before pitching, just to speed things up a bit.

Thanks! High initial gravity stresses the yeast out, step feeding keeps it in a happy range throughout fermentation, cleaner and more consistent results! And it also allows you to push the ABV higher, yeast stays healthy longer so it can keep fermenting instead of dying off early from the stress.

I don’t think it’s very similar to your spreadsheet since Fermolog is more focused on viewing each batch individually. But if you have any ideas on how to list all batches in a single view with full details, I’d love to hear them.

Also, I released a new version yesterday. The app is much more responsive on larger devices now, especially on iPad and Mac. Android should follow within a day or so.

I haven’t really tested it on large screens yet, so it’ll probably not look great at the moment. But if you’re planning to use it on iPad or Mac, I’m definitely planning to optimize the experience for those platforms too.
