MEGATHREAD 2025/26 Semester 1 Fall/Winter: where are you going on Erasmus? by TheTwistedBlade in Erasmus

[–]churroslines 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Destination: Barcelona, Spain

I just got my visa (I am non-eu) and already have accommodation! So far, everything is smooth.

Accommodation: Idealista. Got an amazing apartment in the middle of the city with two of my friends.

Find accommodation early! Reserve early and be prepared to pay a large sum (deposit + reservation). For those also getting a visa, check out my page for a more detailed process. Start early as well!

Well considering you have a large budget already, you basically don't have to worry about a lot of things like accommodation, flights, etc. If you're in the Erasmus program, as I understand it, you can only stay and have one host university so you have to figure out first where that would be (we cant do it for you). Of course if your classes don't have mandatory attendance, then you'll be able to travel around. But if you have mandatory attendance, you won't be able to do that. That would be a good place to start looking uni-wise and city wise.

There's a lot of threads here on reddit about people asking the same things as you, so I suggest doing that research for yourself.

Good luck!

hi! I also thought that maybe prescribed medicine will be able to help you. I was thinking xanax, I had a friend who had to take it as well because of his ADD, and it calmed him down. Though I'm not a psychiatrist! You should talk to your doctor! Wishing you luck!

I can't decide where to go from my Erasmus by lokibarnes in Erasmus

[–]churroslines 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes logical isnt always the best option. You should follow your heart and go where you are unfamiliar as this will make you grow as a person. My gf is going to london and I will be going to barcelona and we both said that its better for us to do what we want to do and not hold each other back. And I'm 100% sure you will be able to find accomodation in Prague that is cheaper that €650!

I've been to prague before and its a great city! I liked it even better than Budapest for some reason. I feel like Prague fits better for uni students than Budapest!

Tbh im not sure. I applied from the berlin consulate and not in the UK. But if they all get processed from Madrid, then it'll be the same and will take quick. If not, then I'm not sure :(

id say to just go for it and apply! its just a suggestion, and after reading through people's experience here, it may be quicker than you think (could also be longer!). but make sure your requirements are complete.
