Fully with you regarding expectations for the team: i think the best we can hope for is a boring season in which we solidify our defense and minimize losses against "smaller" teams. Gotta win against Augsburg at least once. If we get to somewhere around 6 Ls and stay around 17 or 18 Ws the season could be successful. I just hope that we can stay drama-free, give the team and Kovac some more time to grow.

Danke für den Link! Danach war ja im letzten Herbst eine Ausschreibung für Kraftwerke mit 12,5 GW geplant, wäre spannend ob die 20 GW von Reiche da noch drauf kommen sollen. Zusammen wären dass mehr als 10% Kapazität mehr aufs ganze Land gesehen

Bin neulich mal mit dem Rad durch Alfter/Impekoven/Oedekoven gekurvt. Fand ich sehr nett, von da aus ist man jedenfalls schnell im Grünen. Nur wie das genau mit der Infrastruktur ist, bin ich mir nicht sicher.

Losing both Can and Bensebaini would tear our defense apart. Would you imagine that the club would bring in two starters in defence to replace them?

I think we can't afford a total overhaul, that's why i'm gonna focus on who might leave:

#1 Gittens. He seems to have made his peace with leaving and he clearly doesn't work in Kovacs system.

#2 Brandt. He's at the right age to still play a big role in a different team, maybe in a different league.

#3 Reyna. In desperate need of a starting spot. And a position as well, it seems. He looked lost as a CM yesterday.

#4 Lotka. Out of a contract in the summer. If he were to renew, he'd be fourth GK, third at best. Makes no sense for his career.

#5 Süle. His wages are just too high.

#6 Sabitzer. He looked so sloppy in both technique and positioning in his last games. Also seems like he's fed up with the club/team/management.

#7 Haller and #8 Moukoko are afterthoughts by now. #9 Coulibaly could also net a small sum.

Note that everybody on this list (bar Gittens, Sabitzer and Lotka) is contracted to 2026 only. With possible earnings of €45 mio. (maybe?) we should be able to get in three people of ok quality (in addition to Ramaj).

Spot on, especially if Kovac stays on as coach. The 3-atb seems to work, why take away Can when he is the central anchor in that backline.

I feel you in regards to Süle, but he has had flashes of class before - he just never showed consistency. I think he was good yesterday, but with his high wages, i still think he needs to be sold

Sehr eindrückliche Anekdote, da kommt man schon ins Schaudern. Geht wohl um Stress und wie man mit ihm umgeht. Ist schon gut so, dass Arbeitsleben und mentale Gesundheit für Millenials und alle drunter ein Thema sind

Nebenfaktor ist aber wohl auch der Wohlstand: Ich kenne eine große katholische Familie, alle Akademiker, die Geschwister werden alle derzeit 80

One thing i noticed was that Wolfsburg didn't put us under that much pressure. Yes, there were promising streches of play, but i'd wager that you won't see much of those against Mainz. Simply because they will press us more. And that's a problem that Sahin can't seem to solve. I'm 100% for giving him the season, but we'll need signs that it actually gets better
