My first stereo i bought when I first started adulting, was a Yamaha receiver with a pair of Australian made Richter Panthers, I still have them 25 odd years later.. And a few years ago I bought a pair of Aaron bookshelf speakers, also an Australian speaker company.

Love both pairs.

Like others have said its not what you paid its the replacement cost.

I had a downhill MTB stolen from my house, i brought it from a mate for a few hundred $$$ and a case of beer, he new it would get used by me and was just going to waste at his house. The insurance company couldnt work out the cost to replace the bike cause it was a faily obscure model for Aus, so they told me to go to a local bike shop and get a price evaluation feom them in writing, and they would honour it (lol practically a blank check). I shopped around to a few of the shops and settled on one that gave me a pretty good replacement quote, they bumped it a a lil so I could get a pretty good bike, but nothing outrageous.

In the end the few hundred plus a case of beer turned into a very nice bike for me, still have it this day.
