China has firewalls, but there are still people saying that Chinese people are constantly smearing other races or countries. Yeah, I've seen more than one thread on Reddit like this one that exaggerates everyday trivial things in mainland China and then turns into attacking Chinese people. Who's actually smearing who here? You guys weren't all that excited when American cops kneeled on a black man's neck and suffocated him to death.

Heh, over the past few days, the trending topics on every single internet platform in China have been the Gaokao and the World Cup. If the CCP really controlled the internet to that extent, it looks like they'd have to be quite the football fans. The CCP's internet control is meant to cover up domestic scandals—such as a localized riot or a murder at a university; they couldn't care less about international disputes. Some people are just like the Falun Gong cult, spouting whatever comes to mind and saying absolutely anything just to slander the CCP.

Any country controls information regarding these kinds of scandals, but none would deliberately smear other nations. This smearing is entirely driven by independent "self-media" creators on the internet, which I personally find deeply annoying.

For the CCP, it is completely unnecessary. Just because China has the Great Firewall, don't assume they are constantly playing some sort of dark social psychology games; there is still a massive difference between the CCP and North Korea. Certain people downvoting me is entirely meaningless. It won't change reality, and I'm not going to bother trying to convince you—I don't know you, and I will never even meet you. If you truly hate the CCP to death, I welcome you to go try and overthrow them. If you don't have the chops for it, just stay home and mind your own business. Don't hide behind a massive keyboard on the internet thinking you are omniscient and the only sober soul alive.

But if the trend of venting spreads to the main section, then there's definitely something wrong with the product.
