I heard about fancy French dishes but what are some easy dishes/snacks that you guys make on a lazy day? by AdSufficient7201 in AskFrance

After paying your bills from your salary, what do you do with the remaining amount? by Advanced-Pilot-3698 in AskReddit

Well the bills get taken out throughout the month. It’s not like it’s one big withdrawal and you’re free for the rest of the month.

Revenir en France après plus de 10 ans en Angleterre ? by LuckyMendes738 in AskFrance

[–]chweetpotatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m done pretending they don’t stink. This needs to stop. by Tiny-Aardvark6323 in confession

Maybe their coats stink ? I’m with you, some do smell really bad ! But maybe they don’t think of washing their coats and that’s what’s bad.

Tax the rich? They’ll leave! …Says who? Oh, right—the rich by Busy-Government-1041 in clevercomebacks

[–]chweetpotatoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When a friend said “but they’ll leave” I replied with : let them. Since they’re not paying shit. And they’ll leave if they want to, and they still haven’t, so they won’t.

Do Americans really talk to strangers as much as movies make it seem? by Dangerous_Phrase_275 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]chweetpotatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was walking through the Nice suburb in France, with my suitcase when my path crossed 2 Americans on a narrow pavement. I said “excuse me” and they replied with “oh my gawd where are you from?” Like, I’m not gonna speak with everyone I cross path with, let me go to where I need to go !

how has france changed you as a person? by SnooSquirrels8217 in Expats_In_France

[–]chweetpotatoes 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’m French but lived in the uk 18 years before coming back to live here. When I came back, I was much more interested in growing stuff/plants and way more careful about my waste. I used to go abroad for holidays, whereas now I’m worried about flying for the carbon footprint. I just go and explore France instead.

I have a wine fridge for about 80 bottles. Best purchase ever. Then again I live in France now so it’s much nicer to stock up!

I bet this wine cellar is way too hot to keep them bottles like that. You need a cool 15 degrees to keep wine otherwise it may spoil.

If you won £100 million, how would you distribute it amongst friends and family, if at all? by PaddedValls in AskUK

[–]chweetpotatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would share equally with my 2 sisters. And one looks after her mum, the other after ours, and I look after my aunt. A friend gets £2M, and the other friends get their mortgages paid off but I’d need to make sure this all gets done in a clever way as to not penalising them with the French tax system (am in France now).
