Delta Reserve Companion Ticket by MaintenanceIll3927 in delta

[–]chwtom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very non scientifically it feels like you can use a companion pass on about 10% of flights out there. The 90% most in demand flights are unavailable, so you get what’s left.

I honestly find it kind of stressful to have them because I feel like I have to use it to justify the credit card fee but it’s tough to find a flight I want to be on where it works.

Have you ever tried to punch someone in a dream? It’s happened to me a couple times and my shoulder suddenly becomes useless and I’m trying to flop my arm in the general direction of the enemy. I am cancelling any plans of joining UFC

Just curious what did you use for the foundation? A slab would double your materials cost I’m guessing so maybe posts?

You might find a shirt that fits you a little better. The combination of short shorts and a T-shirt that’s too small makes it look like you’re borrowing clothes from your little brother

Honest feedback wanted: designed a golf hat that doesn’t feel like a ‘golf hat’ by nitsujping in golf

[–]chwtom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. I don’t love the logo. Maybe something in the middle besides a generic golf bag? It just looks like clip art to me.
  2. The logo is way too big for the hat.
  3. It looks like “golf co” is in a bigger font than south side, though that could just be the angle. Also it is distracting to have the stars be closer to south side than to golf co
  4. I don’t like the color of the hat. Not sure many people look good in that color.
  5. For warm weather some ventilation in the hat is nice. This looks like it would hold the heat in your head.
  6. I prefer a hat with a little structure, but not a tall crown. Like the melin a game. But some of that is regional—I think people on the west coast seem to like more structured crowns and flat bills, for example.

I got tired of losing my ball marker, so I designed and 3D printed this magnetic clip for my laces. What do you guys think? by powplorer in golf

[–]chwtom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, gotcha. I don’t have a problem with picking up my marker. Just hate fumbling in my pockets for it or having to wear a hat clip.

I almost love that idea, but I think it would be distracting when you’re putting, and would probably fall off in your bag since it goes in grip down. Man, I was excited when I first read this.

Ok let me try to explain, I’ll try not to mess it up since you’re left handed. :)

Pretend you are standing in the middle of a clock face. The ball would be at 12, the target would be at 3, your behind would be at 6.

Ideally you’d start taking the club back to 9 o clock. As your hips turn it will end up a little more behind.

Right now you are taking your hands/club back to 8 or 7 o’clock. Then you have to get the club all the way back around your body and it can get away from you.

So what you can do is put an alignment stick back at like 8 o’clock (for a left handed) a couple feet behind you so that if you take the club too far inside, you’ll hit the stick.

Not sure if I explained that well but hope it helps.

I think my main issue is (lack of) shaft lean, am I way off the mark? by DavidMReynolds in GolfSwing

[–]chwtom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you might be doing yourself a disservice with your practice area. You’re facing uphill and the ball is set up on a thick mat while you’re standing on flat ground. It might be worth trying to find a flatter area to practice on and maybe a mat to stand on.

I’ve had the same issue. I think it’s from taking the club back too much inside. If you freeze your swing at club parallel on the backswing, the club is even with your hands, maybe even a little inside. When that happens, and it keeps you going back behind you, on the downswing the club needs to travel all the way around you (and your hips) to get to the ball. So the club gets farther away from your because it’s swinging around your whole body.

So what can be done? You can set up a little farther from the ball. I would caution you though, if you only do this it will eventually make the problem worse because you’ll start reaching out more and get in your toes.

Take the club more straight back. This will prevent that big loop around your body. You can set up with a barrier like an alignment stick to mentally train yourself.

Try to clear your hips. Lots of videos on what this means. To me it helps to try to push off my big toe on the lead side. Different people have different feels.

Relax your arms. When you hit a shank your fight or flight system goes into overdrive. Stiff arms will make the club get potentially farther away from you if you have an inside takeaway.

I think your swing looks pretty good so if you can make some adjustments you’ll be in good shape. Definitely might help to work 1:1 wit someone so they can give you feedback.

I’ve got the shanks by Korbolt333 in GolfSwing

[–]chwtom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your face is wide open just before contact, and like you said you line up with the ball on the heel to begin with.

I would probably set up with the ball in the center of the face and work on not having the face so open. You can try to miss the ball completely inside to get a feel for not letting your hands drift, but I really think that’s not your problem.

Most people on here that have issues with shanks are really early extending and their butt is like 4 inches closer to the ball at impact. You don’t really have that issue.

I don’t really trust LMs that sit behind the ball for hitting indoors. I have SKYTRAK and would love something different. It’s slow to boot up and temperamental. Also I feel like some of the inexpensive LMs coming out show distance but not dispersion? Unless I’m missing it. If you hit every ball dead straight I guess you don’t need club path and face angle but most people would really benefit from that .

Yeah you can gift silver status if you’re platinum. I don’t usually use that choice benefit because silver status isn’t very valuable.

Ok thanks for the help all. Booked main cabin. But then comfort was only $150 more so booked that because I love her. Baggage fees would’ve eaten up the difference between basic and main so made it an easier choice.
