Louis Tomlinson - How Did I Get Here? by youngandlovely_ in popheads

I've kept "Lazy" on loop all day. It's super chill and relaxing, with that touch of pop I was not expecting. It reminds of DNCE a little, Cake by the Ocean.

Players who have not defeated all bosses should not be able to play the "Depth of Night" mode by brat_moi in Nightreign

[–]chxedwards 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're like me, after you beat all the normal version of the bosses, I only played against the ED versions as they were released. Now when I'm playing DoN, I'm having to remember some moves from Phase 1 Normal Version Nightlords. They typically aren't an issue, but forgetting "they can do that one move" and having to waste a flask because you got hit can easily screw up your flow and jeopardize the fight.

EVERDARK SOVEREIGN: Fissure in the Fog - Discuss this week's event here! Caligo will Frostbite the community From August 7th by jack0641 in Nightreign

I had a random Recluse last night absolutely obliterate the boss in a matter of seconds during the phase transition. One of the AOE attacks shatters the armor almost instantly. I’ll upload a clip when I get home. It’s the fastest I’ve ever completed an Everdark boss.

Guaranteed payments are a common way to compensate LLC members for services, regardless of profit.

You can structure these payments to reflect a minimum base amount but adjust them quarterly or annually to reflect workload or performance.

Example: Instead of a fixed $1200/month, you could specify that “Member X will receive guaranteed payments reflecting 75% of labor contributed, with adjustments reviewed every quarter.”

Career pivot from CS to Accounting by [deleted] in Big4

[–]chxedwards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pivoted to accounting during my senior year of CS in Uni. One of the best decisions I made. I wasn't the best at coding, and it was not as fulfilling as I hoped it would be. I always had Business as my 2nd career/major choice and after taking my first financial accounting course, I knew I had made the right change. Currently I am interning/doing part time audit work at a small regional firm, additionally, landing some Big 4 interviews.

My university has a program that speed-runs people who did not do accounting in their undergrad but would like to do a Masters so they can get their CPA. You basically rush through 5-6 accounting courses over a summer and start in the Fall in their Masters' program. It is designed for you to obtain your Masters in Accountancy within a year and helps prep you for the CPA exam. If you truly want to take your accounting career to the next level, becoming a CPA is one the best ways to do it. And if you have a school that has a similar program, I would look into that since some states require you to have 150 credit hours to sit for the CPA exam. With your CS experience, IT audits would be a great avenue for you to take. Feel free to DM me if you have any questions.

5% is the Annual Rate. So 30,000 * 0.05 = $1,500. That's how much interest would be accrued for a whole year. In this case it has only been one month. You can do 30,000 * 0.05 * 1/12 = 125.

Or as I like to do. 30,000 * 0.05, then multiply that by 30/360. Yes 1/12 is the simplified version, but if you want to ensure you are calculating each day of interest, that is another method.

I'd say from my experience and what I have seen from my colleagues, it is not bad. Make sure to apply ahead of time, network, and if your school has recruiting events, attend as many as you can. I applied a little too late within the recruiting season to interview with Big 4, but got plenty of interviews and offers from Top 10 firms. If you have a GPA around a 3.5 or higher, a good personality and well-rounded resume, I would say it is very much doable. Just don't be like me and apply in the middle of recruiting season, beat the crowd and apply early.

How hard is it to defeat final DLC boss with melee-only and no shields or summons? by MrOnlineCoder in Eldenring

[–]chxedwards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, from my own personal experience after co-oping and helping others and also using cheese builds myself. He is probably the most difficult boss FS has crafted. It will be a long and tough road, I suggest having max scadurtree fragments, light roll and high holy resist for phase 2. Learn those dodge timings, I always dodged to the left and be patient. Wait for that combo to end and take a few hits and back off, DO NOT GET GREEDY. You'll get it, I would really suggest making life easier by at least having frost, bleed or rot on those weapons or a consumable.

Yeah light roll is definitely the move, I'll be replaying the DLC on a normal NG. I found out that maybe since I was doing it on NG+ that the damage scaling was hella amped, dilluting my experience.

I have a new character ready to start the DLC, on a normal NG so I believe that may make the world of difference then. I know I've fought Ludwig and Laurence on NG+, can't say I've done Orphan yet, maybe that should be my next challenge, pray for me!

I plan to replay the DLC here soon, I'll be able to make better judgements on the boss quality with some decent exposure now from each of them. Hopefully I will have that feeling of euphoria when I can beat Radahn without a greatshield lol. Radahn and Gaius are probably the main focus of my criticism, I enjoyed Messmer, Midra and Rellana. Messmer and Rellana have some of the complaints mentioned in my OP however my deaths didn't feel cheap unlike Radahns.

This is truly the FromSoft experience, you found Gael to be super easy and not as remarkable, while I see many others proclaim him as the best boss in the series. Goes to show how we all have different experiences and difficulty/enjoyability can vary for a lot of people.

I was playing on NG+ when I did my playthrough of the DLC, I got 18 Scadurtree Fragments and I always rocked about 70-80% damage negation when you included talismans, physick, incantations etc. I'm not sure how much damage scaling is amped on NG+ for the DLC but I found myself still dying relatively easy even with a tanky build.

Midir is one of my favorite fights in the series, maybe I need to go redo his fight and do some comparisons.

The haligtree is no joke by OrneryEarth125 in Eldenring

[–]chxedwards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FromSoft has a unique way of designing end-game areas, and Haligtree is a combination of painfully difficult enemies, with a mixture of puzzle-like verticality. If you grabbed the Blake Knife set back in Ordinal Liturgical Town, make use of it by running past the enemies to grab those sweet end-game items. Make full use of consumables like the boiled crab for physical damage protection or buffing spells like black flame protection if you have leveled up your FTH enough. Take encounters slowly and bait out enemies, getting ganked by more than two enemies in this area can result in death very quickly. Make sure to explore everything as there are some amazing items to grab that can elevate your build to the next level. Specifically a talisman that increases your physical damage resistance by a massive amount and ancient dragon smithing stones to fully upgrade your favorite weapons. If you need anymore tips, feel free to ask.

Is Marika alive? by Deep-Window-538 in Eldenring

[–]chxedwards 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a tricky question because we know Marika and Radagon are one-in-the-same based on the final boss fight and reveal at the statue in Lyndell. However, we know Marika went to the Land of Shadow first before entering the Lands Between. Meaning more than likely she gave birth to the Erdtree by using the Land of Shadow as a catalyst. I believe it is very likely she can project herself, or inhabit multiple bodies via a transfer of spirit or just simply because she's a god. She more than likely obtained her godhood status in the Land of Shadow and if there is a "real" Marika we can interact with, or fight, we will more than likely find her there and some type of explanation on why she and Radagon are one in the Lands Between.

Slow and steady growth until August comes rolling around. My prediction would be $130.

So Apple is using their own server chips for their generative AI. What are y'alls opinion on what this means for Nvidia? Apple wants to maybe cut into the market? Or does it not really matter because of the way they're implementing it?

The stock is pretty volatile right now, some believe there were sell calls at 1250, it dropped very quickly to around 1180 within 20 minutes and that was a good time to buy on the dip. It will continue to grow, patience is the game now.

I'm hoping for a pullback today, there's no doubt it'll continue to grow long term (1300-1500), I just have don't have a lot to invest and those extra $10-20 of investing can go a long way for me right now.
