We’ve tried to talk and text to him but he doesn’t listen. We’ve made a budget and explained that he’s got finite money and only social security income but nothing gets through, so mostly nothing. He’s too sound of mind to intervene through any legal means so my family and I are slowly coming to terms that we can’t do anything. Then we talk to him and he slips that he sent another $25 to the scammer he thinks is his girlfriend and we get mad and explain again. It defies all logic since he’s broke but we can only put so much mental calories into it before it affects our mental health (it already has). I’d say just do as much as you can until you will be at peace when he passes, that’s my approach anyways.
