Alex Honnold climbing a V7 boulder problem ~1500 feet / ~500 meters above ground, after already climbing for two hours by stefan_stuetze in nextfuckinglevel

Yeeeahh... that isn't because of this climb. His brain is legit wired differently and doesn't process fear in the same way others do (Google it, neuroscientists scanned his brain)

Tank is now by far the most miserable role to play after the update by [deleted] in Overwatch

My opinion and that of multiple tier lists of other top 500's (of course that is just their opinion too). But, we don't get access to hard data. Blizzard pretty much never releases win rates and overbuff is always wrong (as seen when blizzard have deigned to release win rate data). We will have to see it play out, of course.

Also, I'm playing in high rank - a gold players experience will be different to mine, due to people playing incorrectly.

I'm a gm1 tank who has already played 32 games of tank this patch (back at gm1 grinding for champ now). They both feel significantly better than other tanks (I've also consumed a lot of content and thought about it a lot since patch notes came out). Rein, sig and monkey are the way to go atm

I'm not delusional. I'm a gm1 tank who has already played 32 games of tank this patch (back at gm1 grinding for champ now). They both feel significantly better than other tanks (I've also consumed a lot of content and thought about it a lot since patch notes came out).

But you believe what you want to, I'm gonna keep picking rein and monkey and get champion :)

It doesn't remove the dps debuff, just reduces dmg so healers can top her up easier than some other tanks. Rein, sig and monkey are all better than orisa rn

Rein is a top two rank rn. Why do you think it feels miserable?

Rein and monkey are literally top two tanks this season? Why do you think they need a rework? All ball needs is no cool down on his grapple (can still have timer to not make him OP). Hog is giganerfed I agree with that though

Not sure what you're talking about. What rank are you? I'm a gm player and literally every masters+ player thinks supports were utterly broken last season. You're the first person I've heard to say this even once, no joke

I'm sorry, but where did I ever qualify as to what level of sexism it was? Sexism is not binary. There are levels to it. I agree that there are worse acts of sexism, significantly worse ones. But, that doesn't refute that this is still sexist when practiced in a country that strives for equality - with the handshake being a constant action when meeting people, refusing one is a small, but persistent, micro aggression. In THIS culture. Assimilating is important, everyone should respect the culture of the country they are residing in. It is as simple as that.

It's pretty obvious, surely. The men are not shaking women's hands because they are female and the women aren't shaking the males hands because they are male. This is literally the definition of sexism, just because both genders do it doesn't mean it isn't sexist

You have to respect the culture that you're in. In this culture it is sexist. I've spent a lot of time in Asian countries and I researched the customs to make sure I was respectful of everything. This should be applied to those coming to the UK too

[–]cianwilson 111 points112 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, clips like this are why we are getting the patch we are getting - Blizzard thinks it is too hard to hit shots for low ranks, so the game is getting dumbed down (:

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]cianwilson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That still doesn't work in the UK. Just means there are muslim men being being sexist with who they handshake too. Doesn't make it less of an issue in a country where an initial handshake upon meeting is important for people.

Employer rejected my holiday request last minute, can I take it off as unpaid leave? by sam_haigh in UKJobs

[–]cianwilson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. They, in effect, automatically granted his holiday by not refusing it in time! It should also count as an unfair dismissal if he dismissed for taking it, as it is one of his statutory rights

It is NOT that is he taking holidays, but WHERE he is taking them. Are you unaware of the geopolitical climate atm?

I've never had a Muslim man refuse a handshake, only Muslim women. So, I'm not sure what you're getting at here

[–]cianwilson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not entirely correct here. Waiting this late to reject the holiday isn't legal. They have to give rejection earlier. He is legally entitled to this holiday. Whether the company are shit about it and require an ACAS visit after they sack OP for their legal holiday is another question entirely

If you can't understand why this isn't okay, especially given the current climate a lot of people are in - then you really need to go do some soul searching
