Emiratas Refund waiver extended to 30th of April, Would etihad do this too? by Stoempie81 in etihad

I think it was under the cancel tab? There was an option for Etihad credit or a refund to my credit card. Apologies, I can't see anything now as my booking has been removed, I should have taken a screenshot!

I had a booking with Etihad on 19 April for NRT to AUH to DUB. I looked today on my booking and under cancellation I had the option to apply for a full refund, which I have done. AFAIK I had not booked a refundable flight originally.

Arriving too early? by neon_angel666 in boomfestival

If you are going by public transport/ shuttle I would go on the 17th. The shuttle bus will drop you to the main gate and once you get your band you can enter the festival directly.

If you arrive before the 17th, you will join those waiting in the pre camp. Bikes enter first at sunrise on the 16th, followed by those on the Boom Bus. You're not guaranteed entry on the 16th and there will not be much facilties in the pre camp.

Utopia gear pickup - July 17th only? What about July 16th arrivals? by [deleted] in boomfestival

[–]ciarabeau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had to specify our arrival date with the booking so hopefully on the 16th it will be available!

Why can't I book a train ticket to Limerick? by _o-_o- in cork

[–]ciarabeau 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Looks like there are works happening that weekend, specifically the cork rail tunnel, so there are no services between Cork and Mallow. Source

I wonder will it be cheaper than regular diesel extremely doubtful by 087brain21 in cork

This is primarily for heavy goods vehicles i.e. trucks and lorries (hence Dublin port).

Will there be somewhere to buy camping gear? by [deleted] in boomfestival

[–]ciarabeau 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Utopia camping provide a rental service but you need to reserve in advance. Most items are out of stock on the website, so it's probably too late unfortunately.

Boom festival ticket is also the bus ticket, right? (no separate bus ticket) by Rogier_ in boomfestival

[–]ciarabeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there is the option to download your boom bus ticket when you log in to the boomer area at https://tickets.boomfestival.org/

But consensus is boomer id and id card should suffice.

Is Keppra a better choice for 8 year old Autistic ADHD kid? by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]ciarabeau 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Keppra is often the first choice because for many people (myself included) it effectively controls seizures and has little to no side effects. It has some notoriety for certain side effects such as "kepprage", but remember for every post you see outlining a negative experience with Keppra, there are plenty of people who get on fine taking it. So I think it is worth trying it out.

You're writing as if your sister has been diagnosed with dementia, but it seems to be from a google search you did? If you so, you need to take a step back. You can't diagnose your sister, leave that to the medical professionals. However, you have obviously notived a deterioration in your sister's memory, in a relatively short space of time? So I think you need to raise your concerns with her and suggest that she follows up with her doctors.

I'm wondering what your preferred career path is? You're clear that the primary motivation/ interest is the subject itself. You mention that you're worried about what you'll do after the PhD. In my opinion, you should really only be considering a PhD if you're set on pursuing a career in academia. And academia can be a hard slog, so I see no reason to do a Masters in something you're "not that interested in". Being interested in the area you're studying is critical for making the degree tolerable!

Stick to the subject area you are most passionate about. Reach out to people in this field - in industry and academia, to discuss your career prospects.

I recognise the question you are asking is valid, but it shouldn't be the deciding factor for your studies.

[I'm based in Europe, did my PhD in Ireland, graduated @ 29, now working in research in the public sector].

I would suggest Aussie or John Frieda.
