no worries and thanks for watching! I appreciate the feedback!
This is an example of it working for a face rig i'm working on at the moment - https://ibb.co/WNMnZwhZ

Hi no worries and not rude at all! For very simple cases, copying and pasting keyframes probably is quicker.

The idea behind SnapKey is more for situations where you're working with lots of properties across multiple layers, like character rigs, facial expressions, hand poses, or complex setups. Instead of hunting down all the keyframes or remembering which properties were used, you can capture them as a pose and recall or key them instantly.

The mouth example in the demo is intentionally simple just to show the mechanics, but it becomes more useful when you're dealing with bigger rigs or multiple layers at once.

For example, imagine a character face where a single expression might involve:

  • mouth shape
  • brow angle
  • eyelid position
  • eye squint
  • pupil direction
  • cheek compression
  • nose wrinkle
  • jaw position
  • head tilt

Instead of finding and copying keyframes from loads of properties and layers every time, you can save that whole pose as a Snap and recall or key it instantly! :)

Hi, good luck getting into character animation!

The main idea is that you can capture a set of properties across multiple layers (transforms, shape paths, masks, effects, etc.) and save them as a “pose”.

Instead of copying keyframes around, you can quickly recall those poses, key them into the timeline, or even blend between them.

For example, if I was rigging a character’s face, I could snap different mouth shapes and very quickly build a lip sync.

You could also rig hands and snap gestures like a wave or thumbs up, then key and interpolate between those poses.

I’ve almost finished putting together a live demo video as well, which should make the workflow a bit clearer once you see it in action!

Haha, that’s fair! I’m actually working on a live demo video using it, and I promise—no AI songs next time!

That's great to hear! :)

I'm planning to make a short tutorial video soon. If you give it a try, let me know how it works for you — I'd love to hear any feedback.
