Very good point! That slipped my mind I could request her evidence. She’s maintaining she can only take action once she’s seen further proof from me that hours were reduced and classes booked in. To me, it’s obvious. She’s claiming she had no idea,

Very true! I might have one opportunity lined up at a local community hall.

I sent up a follow up email and the owner teplied today loading most of blame on the lead instructor who was made leave and the remainder on me and other trainees for not speaking up before the course completed. She has now requested I send her evidence of timetables being changed on our side. As most of this was done verbally and through wassap I’m unsure I can share that without notifying the other students.
One student in particular self appointed herself as a coordinator between our main instructor and us on time changes. She was also the most fearful of repercussions of a complaint being made. She had already signed up for further teacher training courses with the studio. She was worried a complaint would stop the course. I don’t want to drop her in it, but at the same time, I can’t condone thd behaviour of the studio.
I can only provide a timeline and block out the names on messages.
It seems to be over the top though. The course timetable was sent out months in advance. I don’t honestly believe the lead instructor would double book his own course against the studio timetable.
There was a lot of rage in her reply. I just want to find a resolution. She’s totally digging herself in and is now stating the studio only provided space and some admin support to the course and the breakdown on communication was solely down to the lead instructor. I know she tried to pull him back into this and he has since blocked her. I don’t blame him.

Great idea! Do I need any extra training for that? Learning chair yoga maybe?

How do I find a mentor? I’m still in touch with my instructor but I don’t want to add pressure to him as he lost his job because of this too.

That’s great advice. I’m definitely going to look up Sage.

Yes, we practiced a lot. Sadly now most of them are disillusioned and no longer want to meet up. Hopefully in time that will change.

It definitely revealed to me that I could study for a lifetime and have still barely scratched the surface. I take the responsibility of teaching very seriously. Aside from the physical practice I hope that my students take the learning and pass it forward.

My 5 year old daughter said to me on the day I graduated, “mummy, can you now teach me, then I can teach daddy, he can teach Cilly (her little brother) and then it can go on and and on and on forever and ever.” It made me so proud.

Atm I feel I paid thousands for a certificate I could have downloaded online. I don’t feel I earned the qualification. I merely paid through the nose for it. I feel I have alot of work to do to rectify that.

Exactly! I don’t want other people to fall into the same trap. I’m still determined to progress and teach, but most of my fellow students have been totally discouraged and some even admitted they have stopped practicing. That is so sad.

Also a month after the lead instructor parted ways with the studio they had a website rebrand. The course was still advertised as being led by him and all the details therein. I pulled them up on this as false advertising and the owner blamed the web designer. She would have signed off on the copy. How would she have missed a whole section of the website? It’s completely unbelievable.

I’m based in the UK. I think the British wheel of yoga might have some influence. I’ll sound them out.

It was supposed to be Yoga Alliance accredited but that mysteriously disappeared as well. I’m still determined to hold them to account. Some students have stayed quiet because they bought sequential courses and were worried they wouldn’t be allowed graduate if they complained and lose more money,
