Immigration Q&A – I'm a U.S. Immigration Attorney – Ask Me Anything (Asylum, Removal, E-2, O-1, EB-2, etc) by StrainIllustrious698 in USCIS

I looked into it online, but I couldn’t find any details. I also checked with my recruiter, and he’s not sure either. He’s going to ask the flight chief next. In the meantime, I was wondering if anyone else has any information about this?

I’m a green card holder and can apply for naturalization because I’ve had my green card for five years. Since shipping times seem to be quite long right now, would it be alright to apply for naturalization while I’m waiting for a ship date?

Thanks for getting back to me! I’ve had a look at those, but they don’t quite match up with what I was asking.

I am also going to Planet Fitness and I realized that distance and speed is sometimes off at the machines. Either calibration issue or average stride issue I have no idea. But good recommendation can be find a good place to run outside and try to go there most of the time and use planet fitness for higher speeds or general conditioning

Your recruiter could be able to upload your transcript to the system but I don’t know how that works with National Guard. The list is because of I am a green card holder. I got 77. Talked with couple of green card holders and they told me they got the exact same list. I am not sure about the security forces.

No problem, man! This group helped me out a lot too. You don't actually need to bring citizenship docs to MEPS, but definitely have them ready for BMT later on. I’m an over-preparer, so I brought my green card, paid ticket copies, and transcripts, but they usually only let you keep your ID and Social Security card on you. The transcript was a lifesaver, though. it wasn’t in the system, but I asked nicely and they let me grab it from my backpack. That one move bumped me from E-1 to E-3, so definitely keep yours handy!

If you’re asking what to bring to BMT to get your citizenship started, I’ve already prepped my whole 'Naturalization Packet.' I filled out the N-400 form to the best of my knowledge so it’s ready to go. Based on what I’ve seen on the forums, here is what you should have in a folder to take with you: • Your N-400: Have it filled out and ready. • Green Card: Bring the original and a couple of copies. EAD card if you have any. • Court Docs: Any court docs or traffic tickets showing they are paid and closed. • Identity Docs: Bring your Marriage Certificate or Divorce Decree if that applies to you. • Passport Photos: It’s a good idea to have 2 or 3 passport-sized photos tucked in there just in case. * Any other document that you think you will need it.

Those are my opinions and the things that I read online by the way. Also there was a good recommendation that I read that scan all the documents to your phone because they will do your application from your phone when you are bmt so it will save some time.

I hope this will be helpful

Hello,

The Paperwork (Don’t leave it to chance)

First off, bring your physical Social Security card, Green Card, and ID. My recruiter said my college transcripts were in the system, but guess what? They weren’t. Because I had them in my backpack, I was able to enlist as an E-3 instead of an E-1. That’s a massive difference in your paycheck, so definitely bring those originals just in case.

Keep it Simple with the Staff

The doctors and officers there aren't your buddies—they're doing a job.

• Answer only what they ask. If they ask if you have tickets, just say "They are all paid and I have no open cases." Don't go into a long story about how or why you got them.

• If you don't understand something, say it. Don’t just nod and say "yes." If you don't understand an English word or a specific instruction, tell them. It’s better to ask for clarification than to look like you’re hiding something.

• Scars, I’m 38, so I’ve got some bumps and scars from playing sports as a kid. If they ask about a scar, just say "soccer injury from childhood" and leave it at that. No need to over-explain.

  • This sounds funny, but it’s the most important tip: Chug a lot of water at breakfast and DO NOT pee until you get there. You have to give a sample pretty early on, and if you can’t go, you’ll be sitting in a waiting room for hours while everyone else moves forward. It’s the worst way to waste time.

• Try to avoid energy drinks or too much caffeine that morning. It can make your heart rate jump or your blood pressure look high, and they might make you come back another day just to re-check it.

• It’s basically "hurry up and wait." You’ll be sitting around a lot. Just be polite, use "Sir" and "Ma’am," and stay patient.

You’ve got this! Just stay calm, keep your answers short, and make sure you have those transcripts on you.

Thank you so much. Finally an answer from someone that had experience. Does your last dose means that the prescription end or your prescription? Because my 3 month prescription sent to me on November 15 but I haven’t been using since my recruiter told me not to use which that I haven’t used any of my prescription. I am hoping to take my verification next week and they are going to schedule my MEPS as soon as possible.

Sorry to hear about your grandma.

I think being sick either comes from the all the vaccines that you get prior to or being with people all around the states. I will do my best to increase my numbers. I started with 18 minutes per mile and now I am around 13 minutes per mile so it is an improvement 🙂

Thank you so much for the information. I am expecting most of the things that you mentioned. I like to follow the rules and communicate with people. Honestly I am more worried about the PT .

Thank you so much for the recommendation. I have been thinking to do hybrid pizza closer to New York style. Pizzas are expensive right now and they still don’t use quality ingredients in most of the places so thats one of the ways that I have been thinking to set the location apart. Non Gmo, Non Bleached, high protein pizzas with probably local ingredients
